Last week, several extracts from his book were leaked and obtained by The Guardian.

Nothing appears to be off limits for Harry, and his book reveals a very dark and ugly side of the British monarchy.

In a recent interview with “ITV News,” the father-of-two opened up about the death of his mother, Princess Diana.

Princess Di passed away in 1997 after her driver crashed into a wall while driving at a very high speed through the Pont de l’Alma tunnel in Paris. He was attempting to escape the paparazzi.

She died from injuries sustained from the accident.

Prince Harry Was Unable To Show Emotion Following Diana's Death

He was 12 at the time of his mother’s passing and on holiday at Balmoral in Scotland.

Upon returning to Kensington Palace, Harry explained how he felt guilty shaking hands and smiling with thousands of people mourning the death of Princess Diana.

“I cried once at the burial, and I go into detail [‘Spare’] about how strange it was and how actually there was this guilt that I felt, and I think William felt as well, by walking around the outside of Kensington Palace,” he expressed. “You know, 50,000 bouquets of flowers to our mother and there we were shaking people’s hands, smiling. I’ve seen the videos, right? I look back over it all.”

He detailed shaking “all of the wet hands” and how he couldn’t understand why so many people had “wet hands.”

“It was all the tears that they were wiping away,” Harry said. “Everyone thought and felt like they knew our mum, and the two closest people to her, the two most loved people by her, were unable to show any emotion in that moment.”

He told Anderson Cooper during his interview with "60 Minutes" that he couldn't believe she was dead for a long time.

Harry Refused To Believe Princess Diana Was Gone

The Duke of Sussex admitted to Bradby that there are a lot of things that are “unexplained” about Diana’s death.

"I just refused to accept that she was gone. Um, part of she would never do this to us, but also part of, maybe this was all part of a plan," he told Cooper.

Prince Harry admitted that he didn’t “really see the point” of opening up another inquiry after years of reviewing the case.

He also revealed that he saw the gruesome photos from the scene of the accident that took his mother’s life. Harry did this to try and understand what exactly happened.

“I couldn’t comprehend [her death],” he admitted.

Harry said paparazzi were taking photos of her dying rather than helping her.

Prior to their departure from the royal family in 2020, Prince Harry was “genuinely terrified about what was going to happen” to him and wife Meghan Markle.

The couple moved away from the UK and planted their roots in Montecito, California.

They welcomed their first-born, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, in 2019, before they left their working royal titles.

In 2021, they welcomed their second child, Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor.

In addition to opening up about his mother’s death, “Spare” details a physical fight he got into with Prince William and his father, King Charles III’s, disparaging remarks to Diana after she gave birth to him.

Despite their royal rift, Harry is hopeful to one day make amends with his father and brother.

“I want reconciliation but first there needs to be accountability,” he said, claiming he was told by certain members of the royal family that he was “delusional and paranoid.”
