Oscar De La Hoya Files For Divorce From Wife After 22 Years Of Marriage

Oscar De La Hoyaand his wife, Milagros 'Millie' Corretjerare calling it quits after 22 years of marriage.

According to legal documents, obtained by The Blast, the legendary boxer cites "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for their breakup.

The former boxer and his wife have been married for over two decades and De La Hoya is asking for joint custody of the 3 children they share together. In the filing, the boxer says he is willing to give his ex-wife physical custody and he will have visitation. He's also willing to pay spousal support.

As for separate and joint property between the former couple have not gotten that far, the document states, "the parties have not yet determined the exact nature and extent of their separate property assets and debts, and will seek leave to amend this Petition once same has been fully and finally ascertained.”

It is common knowledge that the former couple has been split for several years now, but this legal filing makes the divorce official. Back in 2016, a video surfaced of De La Hoya outside of a Hollywood nightclub where he addressed ending his marriage. Oscar says "guess what I am single" in the video. At the time, his representatives wouldn't confirm or deny the split, but a few other stories appeared to point in that direction.

De La Hoya is willing to pay attorney's fees for both sides in the divorce.

De La Hoya has been seen out and about with his new serious girlfriend, Holly Sonders. The pair were most recently seen at The Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles where they attended the Ryan Garcia vs Javier Fortuna fight.

Sonders is 34 and began dating the former boxer in August of 2021 after they two met at a party in July of that same year. De La Hoya gushed about his girlfriend in the February issue of BoxingScene.com, claiming that she "makes me feel like King Kong".

Holly is so serious about her relationship with De La Hoya that she inked her body with a photo of him. the bold tattoo is on her back and it is of the boxer in his prime winning the Olympic gold medal at the 1992 Barcelona Games.

She bragged about their love and the tattoo on Instagram."Dear Oscar, you have everything in life, there is nothing I can give you that you haven't received already... except for this. This tattoo signifies the day you became The Golden Boy. The moment you won the gold medal at the 1992 Olympics and looked up at your mother who had passed a few months prior."

She even got the tattoo done by his sister's husband. The couple is clearly serious and now the divorce opens new opportunities for the future.
