Tristan Thompson has some big resolutions for 2023!

The NBA star shared a telling quote about parenting and teaching your child to accept people who love them for them.

The quote from @adventurebookofe reads, “I grew up hearing ‘they’re family, you don’t have to like them but you got to love them’ and I promise you I won’t be teaching my child the same thing. If they treat you bad, if they make you feel like an outsider, or they make you question your worth, you don’t have to like them or love them. You love who loves you. You put your energy into those that love you back. There’s no ‘because they’re blood you go to love them’ here.”

TT added his own commentary to the quote writing, “THIS YEAR BREAK THIS TOXIC MINDSET. BLOOD IS NOT THICKER THAN A PEICE OF MIND.”

It’s pretty comical he shared this quote to his Instagram story given he has been an absent father to his third child, Theo, whom he shares with Maralee Nichols.

It's Ironic TT Is Giving Parenting Advice When He's ABANDONED Theo

In December, The Blast reported that the former Chicago Bulls player is required to pay retroactive child support to Nichols given he failed to do so for the entire first year of Theo’s life.

Up until late 2022, TT allegedly had not been paying child support in addition to supposedly not seeing his child in person.

After a brief court appearance, he will have to pay $9,500 a month in child support.

Tristan got the fitness trainer pregnant in March 2021 while in a committed relationship with Khloe Kardashian.

Tristan Fesses Up To Cheating On Khloe

The professional athlete fessed up to his indiscretions via a note on his Instagram Story.

“Khloe, you don’t deserve this. You don’t deserve the heartache and humiliation I have caused you. You don’t deserve the way I have treated you over the years. My actions certainly have not lined up with the way I view you. I have the utmost respect and love for you. Regardless of what you may think. Again, I am so incredibly sorry,” he wrote.

Tristan reportedly paid Nichols’ legal fees and of course, he let her have full custody of Theo. This culmination comes after the two have been in a legal battle for just over a year pertaining to paternity and support.

Tristan also has a son, Prince Thompson, with his ex-girlfriend, Jordan Craig, and he has two children with Khloe.

The ex-couple welcomed their second child, a son, via surrogate in 2022. News of their baby boy broke in July 2022, and confirmed by a rep for the Good American co-founder.

“We can confirm True will have a sibling who was conceived in November (2021). Khloé is incredibly grateful to the extraordinary surrogate for such a beautiful blessing. We'd like to ask for kindness and privacy so that Khloe can focus on her family."

“Khloé has always wanted a little brother for True and decided to go ahead with having the baby with the support of her family,” an insider shared with PageSix.

The reality TV star has insisted she and Tristan are NOT back together, and she has not slept with him since their breakup in 2021.
