'Selling Sunset' Star Amanza Smith Sets The Record Straight About Chrishell Stause And Justin Hartley's Split

Amanza Smith appeared on the August 27 episode of the "Behind the Velvet Rope with David Yontef" podcast, where she opened up about the controversial split between her "Selling Sunset" co-star, Chrishell Stause, and her husband, "This is Us" cast member Justin Hartley.

After a number of other members of the show, including Christine Quinn, spoke out about Justin's November 2019 divorce filing, Amanza set the record straight about what the Netflix reality cast actually knew about the breakup before it was announced publicly.

"Oh my gosh, we, yeah, we all were, I was in tears," Amanza said of the moment she learned of Chrishell and Justin's split.

According to Amanza, she and her cast mates attended an event just one night prior to Justin's divorce filing.

"We were all like, just crazy because the night before she found out, we had just done, she had done a charity event and she hosted this really beautiful charity event. And he had donated something for the silent auction," she shared.

During the charity event, Amanza said Chrishell had gone on stage and given an amazing speech, during which the she thanked Justin and "doted over him," even though he wasn't present.

"[Justin] wasn't there, but she was like speaking so highly of [the] man. [And we] were just always like, 'Oh my God, they're so cute. Like they're just goals,'" Amanza stated.

"No, nobody knew," she confirmed, adding that she was disappointed by one of her "Selling Sunset" co-stars, who had suggested there were tense moments leading up to the split.

"I read an interview by one of our other castmates recently and it sounded as if she really knew anything about that relationship. And I have to tell you, that's absolutely false," Amanza confirmed. "Nobody in the office knew."

According to Amanza, potential therapy sessions between Chrishell and Justin were never discussed and no one knew a thing about what was going on between the couple behind closed doors.

"It was Christine. And she said it, I don't know what publication, but I remember I read it," Amanza continued. "And I'm like, we didn't know that."

"Nobody knew that. And if Chrishell were to tell anyone in the office about her marital therapy or whatever, which she didn't, it 100 percent would not have been Christine," Amanza added.

Amanza then said that while she likes Christine, she was really disappointed to see the interview because she and her cast mates "did not know crap" about Chrishell and Justin's breakup.
