Even though the couple had known each other for a couple of years, Chase only went public with his relationship with Medders in the summer of 2020. However, it turns out that all was not consistently well between Chase and Medders, as the latter previously revealed.

Emmy Medders Reveals The Break-Up She & Chase Chrisley Endured Before Getting Engaged

When two people from different backgrounds meet and agree to be together for a long time, they are bound to have disagreements. That was the case for Medders and her reality star beau when they suffered a significant break-up before their engagement.

The 26-year-old detailed the shocking story when she joined her soon-to-be sister-in-law, Savannah, on her "Unlocked with Savannah Chrisley" podcast this week. During their chat, Medders admitted that her relationship with the "Chrisley Knows Best" stated struggled through its fair share of "ups and downs," including "one major break."

"We started talking right before COVID hit. It was on and off, and then we were doing really well, and then we did have one, like, major breakup where we didn't talk for like — I want to say it was two months, but it was probably more like two weeks," she shared before acknowledging that "it felt like two months for me."

The couple has continued to work on their relationship since they made their way back to each other, a move that Medders claimed made things "great" for them.

Chase and Medders had definitely looked in love and excited for their future when the former broke the news of their engagement on Instagram in October. The romantic proposal, which took place in an empty stadium, featured rose petals decorated into a heart shape and an entangled ring balloon.

While the first slide showed the 26-year-old on one knee, seemingly popping the question, the next slide showcased him holding his woman's hand as he led her down the field.

Subsequent images featured the couple triumphantly waving their hands before sharing a sweet hug in a black-and-white shot. The last frame highlighted the gorgeous diamond ring that Chase proposed to Medders with. The excited groom-to-be effused under the pictures:

"I am the luckiest man in the world, being able to call you mine forever is a blessing straight from God. You are the sunshine when it's dark, you are the rain when it's dry. I love you more than life itself and can't wait to live forever with you! To you my love! Thank you for taking me FOREVER!! @emmymedders."

The post, which was edited one week ago, quickly grabbed the attention of fans, friends, and family, with his brother Kyle congratulating him in the comment section. His sister, Lindsie, chimed in, "We love to see it," and real estate broker, Nic Kerdiles, gushed, "Couldn't be more excited for y'all than I am right now. Love you both! Cheers to many years of happiness and love."

The 'Growing Up Chrisley' Star Refuses To Publicly Address His Parents' Legal Problems

Since his parents — Todd and Julie — bagged prison terms for their bank fraud and tax evasion crimes a few weeks ago, fans have wondered how Chase has been doing. An answer was provided when the reality star appeared on Savannah's podcast, which The Blast observed began on a fun note for the siblings.

Things soon turned weird when Savannah called her big brother out for being in a "weird place" and being "unfriendly," which he vehemently denied. He responded, "I haven't had an issue with you, don't have an issue with you. I'm just not gonna let someone be mean."

After Savannah clarified that they had both "been in weird places" with the drama surrounding them, Chase replied, "I don't owe the public an explanation. I don't need to explain how I feel to anybody, other than the people that I care about and I love. Obviously, what we have been going through is hell, it is a terrible, terrible situation, but I have to try and find the good, even in the darkest time."
