'Teen Mom's' Leah Messer Says Jaylan Mobley Split Has Deeply Affected Her Kids

Leah Messer has finally opened up about her breakup from fiancé Jaylan Mobley and revealed that it's one part of her life that she can't openly speak about. Messer revealed that she couldn't share details about the breakup openly as she's legally restricted. However, the reality star confirmed that she didn't cheat and that Mobley would share his side of the story in time.
Messer, who's raising three daughters, also said that the breakup from Mobley affected her kids, as they were attached to him. She'd previously opened up about their romance, calling Mobley an "absolutely perfect" person. Despite the painful breakup, Messer assured her viewers and fans that she still supports Mobley but knows it's time to move forward.

Leah Messer Says She Legally Can't Speak On Her Breakup With Jaylan Mobley
Two months after Messer announced that she'd called off her engagement to Mobley, the reality star has finally shared some information about the breakup. According to E! News, During the December 27th reunion episode of "Teen Mom: The Next Chapter," Messer explained that she couldn't share significant details about that part of her life.
She did confirm to reunion hosts Nessa Dian and Dr. Drew Pinsky that she "didn't cheat" and stated that Mobley would eventually share, but "it's not for me to do." When asked if Mobley cheated or did something bad, Messer coyly said it's something her ex-fiancé "deserves to speak on."
The reality star later admitted that "legally, I cannot share" information about the split because she signed an NDA. Talking about the breakup, Messer said, "I definitely had questions. I'm so confused. Have we been living a lie for a year and a half?"
The Breakup Affected Leah Messer's Kids
Messer, who is raising three daughters, twins Aliannah Hope and Aleeah Grace, and Adalynn Faith, also explained that the breakup deeply affected her kids. She said, "They still want Jay to come around. We still love him," but his being in their lives is just not possible right now.
Messer continued, "You can't change someone, but if you're not in the place where you know who you are, how am I supposed to have a romantic relationship with you? That doesn't make sense." She previously opened up about their relationship in an interview with E! News.
During the January interview, Messer called Mobley "absolutely perfect." She also said, "He's just every quality that I wanted in someone. The way that he is with my kids, I don't know if there's ever going to be another because he's just great."
She Remains Supportive Of Jaylan Mobley
Despite their split, Messer assured her viewers and fans during the reunion special episode that she still supports and cares for her ex-fiancé. However, she now knows that it's time for her and her kids to move forward with life.
She said, "I think Jaylan genuinely loves us at the capacity of how he knows how to love. I still believe in love. I keep moving. I keep showing up. I keep being a mom and lean on my support system."
Messer first gained prominence on the MTV show "16 and Pregnant" in 2010. She later moved to "Teen Mom 2" before joining the sequel "Teen Mom: Next Chapter."
Leah Messer Has Learned To Put Herself First
Before the tragic breakup, Measer shared during an interview with E! News that she'd learned a new perspective on dating and romance. The reality star explained that she now wishes she'd put herself first in her previous relationships.
She said, "I feel like you should take your time to get to know yourself before even getting out there and being exclusively committed to someone. I wish I would have done a lot when I was younger. I wish I would have explored the dating scene and got to know myself a little bit more and pursued more of what brought me purpose, what brought me drive."
