She Said Yes! 'Teen Mom 2' Star Leah Messer Is Engaged To Jaylan Mobley

A new love-filled chapter is just beginning for "Teen Mom 2" star Leah Messer after boyfriend Jaylan Mobley proposed to her Friday night during a trip to Costa Rica. The couple's anniversary trip included Mobley popping the question with a 4.7-carat custom ring on the beach.

Messer announced her big news with a post on Instagram captioned, "Two souls, one heart ❤️ It’s official!! ?" Mobley commented, "The one 4L!! I love you to the ends of the earth! ❤️" The rest of the comment section took on the same loving theme with tons of messages of congrats and happiness.

Messer explained that she "knew something was going on" but "had no idea it was going to be like this." "It feels amazing. I never imagined myself being here today, but I couldn't imagine myself being anywhere else," Messer told People. Mobley added, "I can't even express how I'm feeling. I wanted this moment to be the perfect moment for her."

Mobley said he was "nervous" but prepared for this big moment. This wasn't something he decided at the last minute. "I've been thinking about this for at least two to three months. I knew that it would be cool if we did it in Costa Rica - where we came when we first started dating," he said. "A lot of people helped pull this off. I just consider myself to be blessed and lucky to be in her life."

The couple started dating in August 2021, after meeting a year prior, and went Instagram official with their relationship in September.

This will be Messer's third marriage. She was previously married to Corey Simms, who she shares twins Ali and Aleeah, 12. She later married Jeremy Calvert, who she shares daughter Adalynn, 9. Messer was able to blend Mobley into her family life after seeing the potential their relationship had. "I think being less guarded myself and getting to know Jaylan personally allowed me to just trust him a little bit more and trust his intentions and really see the potential that we have together," Messer told Us Weekly earlier this year. "And I think that's why I opened up my life to him. I think [being in the public eye] is a lot of pressure on your relationship. So at the end of the day, I just wanted to get to know him a lot more before introducing him to my kids, my family, and the cameras."

Messer said that her girls and Mobley "have a great relationship" and they see him "as a role model" and "as another father figure in their lives." Once home from their Costa Rica adventure, they plan to tell the children all about the engagement together. "The girls have been asking if I plan to propose, [and] I think the best way to tell the girls is for us to do it together. I have a surprise for them as well," Mobley told People.
