NeNe Leakes Believes She Deserves 'Grace' For Possible Return To 'RHOA'

Months after filing and dropping a federal lawsuit against Bravo and the "Real Housewives" franchise, NeNe Leakes believes she is worthy of a possible comeback to the "Real Housewives of Atlanta" show.
Back in 2020, Leakes left the program in the tenth season after being an original cast member from seasons one to seven. And while fans would no doubt be thrilled to see her return, her discrimination accusations against the showrunners may not be easily forgotten even though she has since ended her court battle.
Fans Of NeNe Leakes React To Her Possible Return To 'RHOA'Â
It was recently announced that a former "RHOBH" star, Brandi Glanville, supposedly confirmed her return to the franchise, prompting a fan of Leakes' to declare that the icon deserved a comeback as well. The supporter wrote on Twitter:
"It's Amazing to me how everyone can get an opportunity to return to these housewives shows but @NeNeLeakes when we know that's Housewife a Royalist. Where is the grace?"
The 55-year-old fashion designer seemed to share a similar opinion as she retweeted the message, implying that she had no misgivings about making a homecoming. Nevertheless, other fans were not so supportive, including one who wrote, "Her ego and big mouth cinched it. The lawsuit cauterized it. There are other networks…."
Another commenter did not see the "DWTS" alum returning as they expressed so after asking, "Would you rehire someone that sued you after you had settled your case with them?"
Agreeing with the user about her impossible comeback, a critic stated, "Baby the "grace" left with the lawsuit. No denying she's a Housewives icon, but she's also a liability."
Recalling her lawsuit against the "RHOA" showrunners, she claimed they were guilty of cultivating a workplace atmosphere that allowed the show's staffers to be racially abusive and portray unbecoming conduct.
However, the suit was dropped in August without prejudice, and Leakes did not pursue compensation for her legal expenses. The Blast reported that the court records showed that she was done suing the defendants; Bravo, "RHOA," executive producer Andy Cohen, NBCUniversal, True Entertainment, and Truly Original.
The document read, "Leakes hereby dismisses this action and all claims asserted by Leakes without prejudice, thereby concluding this case before this court at this time." The dismissal without prejudice indicated that the case could be refiled in the future if the accuser decides to do so. In addition, the court records noted:
"All Parties consent and stipulate to the foregoing dismissal. No party will seek recovery of costs or attorneys' fees in any submission to this court."
As for the lawsuit filed in April, the documents showed that "The New Normal" actress pointed to a former "RHOA" co-star Kim Zociak-Biermann whom she alleged was "racially insensitive" in certain scenarios.
She accused Zolciak-Biermann of making racially discriminating remarks while being "allowed and permitted to engage in racially-offensive conduct" without the network reprimanding her.
Despite naming her ex-colleague in the suit, she did not name her as a defendant, meaning that the case was solely centered on the franchise's showrunners. Before exiting "RHOA" for good in 2020, Leakes had a guest role on the show in season eight and boycotted season nine.
Nevertheless, she made a full return in the tenth season, during which she had a social media clash with Bravo and Cohen. She vented at the time, stressing that she was not appreciated enough as the "only Black OG" every season while her "white counterparts were elevated and given full season episodes."
NeNe Leakes Gets Condemned By Former Co-Star For False Allegations
About two months after Leakes sued Bravo and the "Real Housewives" creators, Zolciak-Biermann slammed the allegations during an appearance on Carlos King's "OWN's The Nightcap" for a special reunion episode.
The Blast shared that the housewives who were featured in the first few "RHOA" seasons; the mother-of-six, DeShawn Snow, Lisa Wu, and Sheree Whitfield, were present, except "The Celebrity Apprentice" star given her lawsuit.
During the episode, when Zolciak-Biermann was asked what she thought about the accusations, she called the claims about her lies which she believed Leakes was aware of. She said:
"I mean, she knows what she's saying is not true in regards to me. That's ridiculous, and she knows it. So I'll deal with her when she's done with them."
