Chelsea Handler Says 'No Friendship' With Ex Jo Koy Until 'Responsibility' Is Taken

Chelsea Handler is sticking to no friendship with her ex-boyfriend Jo Koy.

The vocal Anti-Trump comedian is famous for her successful late-night show "Chelsea Lately" on the E! network. In addition to her many income streams, she released a documentary series titled "Chelsea Does" on Netflix in 2016 and hosted the Talk Show "Chelsea" on the same platform.

The relationship between herself and Koy became official with an Instagram post in September of the previous year; however, the lovebird called it quits ahead of their first anniversary. Now Handler has voiced what she won't accept from her ex-lover post the breakup.

On the "Now What?" podcast with Brooke Shields, the 47-year-old had some choice words for Koy and the state of their friendship since their mutual parting. She unequivocally stated:

"I mean, there has to be some accountability, you know what I mean? Like, from him about what happened, because it was just ridiculous."

Still not giving listeners the full scope of what kind of accountability Koy is to take over their breakup, the TV host continued by saying, "There was just some behaviors that we couldn't agree on." Handler further explained:

"And it felt to me like I would have to abandon myself, which maybe I would have been OK to do if I were 20 or 25. But I wasn't willing to do that."

The love Handler has for the actor was not lost in the message as she stated severally that she "loved him so much." However, she lets Shields understand that she will not neglect herself to prove it to him. In her words:

"I was like, 'I'm not going to change the way that I behave in order to make you feel more comfortable. I'm not doing that."

The Stand-up comedian expressed that she did her best to save the "forever relationship" she thought she had signed on with the 51-year-old. They even beckoned on a Therapist to help navigate them through the "several situations" they disagreed on.

Overall, the Author ended the conversation with a positive attitude of acceptance over the partition from her comedian boyfriend by declaring he was not her "person." Although she claims it was brutal walking away from him.

As mentioned earlier, the preparation for the former lovers' first anniversary was abruptly cut short by the dissolution of their relationship. A report from The Blast in July showed details of the separation.

The American actress uploaded a photograph to fans, making them aware of the split but subsequently appreciated the efforts each one of them took toward the growth of her romance by writing:

"I know many of you were invested in our love, and I wanted to express to you how much that meant to both of us. How much it still means. And how much I now believe in love for each one of us."

The words, "…as many of you have noticed, it is with a heavy heart to announce that we have decided together that it is best for us to take a break from our relationship right now," revealed the true intent behind the update. Handler continued the caption by drenching Koy with adorable remarks concerning his influence over life when she wrote:

"Jo- you blew my creativity open, my lust for working hard again, being on the road again, and you reminded me who I was and always have been, and my feet have never been more firmly planted in the ground."

Ultimately, she asked her followers to keep supporting them in their projects and commitments.

Since the amicable split, it was anticipated that the entertainer couple would move on to different partners; nonetheless, it appears the podcaster took the cue first. On September 26, The Blast reported on the mystery woman Koy was seen with at the Pacific Palisades.

The rumored lovers lay beside each other on a blanket placed on a lawn looking enthralled in their dialogue. Dressed casually for the occurrence, Koy wore denim pants, a checkered shirt, and white shoes. He completed the outfit with black sunglasses. 

On the other hand, his love interest was spotted with a no-arm cotton top and jeans and freed her hair. Though Koy has confirmed nothing, it was pretty telling when the duo was caught having a taste of one another at a shop.
