Lupita Nyong'o Reveals She's Dating TV Host Selema Masekela In The Most Adorable Couple Video

Actress Lupita Nyong'o broke millions of fans' hearts by going Instagram official with her boyfriend, Selema Masekela. The couple shared an Instagram reel on their accounts, which featured them dancing in matching outfits. They appeared to be on vacation in the video, with the most adorable captions by both stars.

Nyong'o and Masekela's friends quickly flooded the comment section with praise for the cute couple. There were comments from musician Janelle Monáe, actress Tracee Ellis Ross, TV personality Jason Kennedy, and several others. In the past, Nyong'o has severally shot down dating rumors with her co-stars, such as Jared Leto and Michael B. Jordan.

The actress is notoriously private about her romantic life and has stated it's because of the increasing lack of privacy for celebs. Nyong'o is a very successful actress, but Masekela has also done well as a sports reporter, musician, and even in film. As a sports writer, he's covered the Summer Olympics for NBC and the Winter X Games for ESPN.

Nyong'o's fans received an early Christmas surprise with the actress going Instagram official with boyfriend Masekela. On Friday, December 23rd, the "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" star and the TV host posted a reel of them participating in a trend where you switch outfits and snap your fingers to the beat of Iniko's "The King's Affirmation (Chill Mix)."

39-year-old Nyong'o captioned the reel on her page with "We just click! @selema #thisismylove #nuffsaid." 51-year-old Masekela captioned his post, "Hearts are synched. My whole and actual love @lupitanyongo. #outkickedthecoverage ?.”

The video shows the new lovebirds on vacation as their outfits transition from matching paisley robes to animal print swimwear. The stylish couple also changed into three fancy outfits that beautifully complemented each other.

It didn't take long for the comment section in Nyong'o post to blow up, with celebrities and fans alike shocked and happy for the actress. Janelle Monáe was one of such celebrities who commented, "Obsessed," while Tracee Ellis Ross sent her several heart emojis.

Kehlani also commented on the video, writing, "Woooooowwwww I LOVE THISSSSSSS BROOOO." Elaine Welteroth hyped up the cute couple, commenting, "LOVE WINSSSSS. And that's that on that! Love you both to the moon." Jason Kennedy also commented, "I'm here for this," with a heart eyes emoji.

In the past, Nyong'o has severally denied dating rumors involving former co-stars like Jared Leto and Michael B. Jordan.  The rumors between her and Jordan began when they staged a make-out scene at a Golden Globes after-party in 2019, but both celebrities have severally denied having a relationship. Nyong'o subsequently spoke about the rumors during an interview with Entertainment Tonight.

She said, "It's flattering at the end of the day. I think it's such a rare thing to find people you have good chemistry with and too for us to find each other as actors and get to work together, it makes the work richer that we truly enjoy each other's company on and off the screen."

Masekela is originally from New York but was born to South African jazz musician Hugh Masekela. He's built a successful sports reporting career, with previous coverage on the Summer Olympics for NBC and on the Winter X Games for ESPN.

Masekela also has a band, Alekesam, which has several successful tracks, some of which have been featured on shows like "House of Lies" and "Entourage." He also has film credits for appearances in "Sneakerheads" and "Point Break."

Despite the couple just going social media official, Masekela has previously made a tweet hinting at their first meeting. In April 2016, he tweeted about meeting the movie star on a plane, writing, "Hypothetically speaking of course ... let's say you're seated behind Lupita Nyong'o on an airplane, what would be your opening line?"
