The "Unapologetically" singer might be recalling that she and the 37-year-old should have been celebrating their wedding anniversary in December instead of finalizing their divorce.

Apparently, they had been in therapy for some years and, when they could not continue to give their best, chose to formally live separately for a while before officially filing at the court. The "Dibs" songstress announced the "Deeply Difficult Decision" in a post alongside a lengthy message.

"Friends, I've always tried my best to share my life with you in a real and vulnerable way while also protecting layers of my personal life as they unfold," the songwriter began. She added that while she knew the news was already out there, she wanted her fans to hear it from her first.
