What Happens When A Sports Reporter Is Forced To Cover Weather During A Blizzard?

Mark Woodley did not hold back his thoughts or feelings while being forced to cover morning weather during a blizzard. The sports reporter, who's used to a shorter, warmer, and later in the day shift, was clearly not pleased when his news station, KWWL, assigned him to cover an early morning blizzard.
What Happens When You Ask A Sports Reporter To Play The Role Of Weather Guy?
The KWWL sports reporter went viral after his live weather coverage in Waterloo, Iowa getting more than two million views on Twitter thanks to his cranky honesty. When asked by a reporter at the news desk how he's feeling outside in the cold temps, Woodley's response started the mood off in a funny way.
"Again, the same way I felt about eight minutes ago when you asked me that same question," he said with a slight attitude. "I normally do sports, everything is canceled here for the next couple of days so what better time to ask the sports guy to come in about five hours earlier than he would normally wake up, go stand out in the wind and snow and the cold and tell other people not to do the same. I didn't even realize that there was a 3:30 also in the morning until today."

Mark Woodley's Weather Report Continued As He Got "Crankier"
Later in the morning weather report, Woodley continues his cranky banter and reporting out on the cold, dark streets. "I'm used to these evening shows that are only 30 minutes long and generally on those shows I'm inside, so this is a really long show. Tune in for the next couple of hours to watch me progressively get crankier and crankier," he warned viewers. "How do I get that Storm Chaser 7 duty? I feel like Clint got the better end of that deal. That thing's heated. The outdoors, currently not heated."
As the morning show continued, Woodley got a bit "crankier" as he predicted he would. "I'll tell you what Ryan, I've got good news and I've got bad news. The good news is that I can still feel my face right now. The bad news is I kind of wish I couldn't," he continued. "Can I go back to my regular job? I'm pretty sure, Ryan, that you guys added an extra hour to this show just because somebody likes torturing me, because compared to two-and-a-half hours ago it's just getting colder and colder."
Viewers Enjoyed The Sports Reporter's Take On The Early Morning Weather
Woodley's tweet of his comical weather report got many replies. One person replied, "I hope this blizzard never ends, now."
Another person replied, "Finally, a man on the street interview I actually want to watch."
Other positive replies included, "This is epic," "More meteorologists need to take a page from your book and tell it like it is. Thanks for the honesty and snark," "You are going to be working for @weatherchannel by Saturday," "I'd contemplate trading this gentleman 1 blizzard for 9 hurricanes," "News Director to Asst ND: Put down Woodley for every storm, flood, presidential caucus, overturned tractor-trailer, first day of school, last day of school, plague of locusts," and many others.
