Leah McSweeney filmed the "Real Housewives of New York City" season 12 reunion special last week in Long Island and shortly after doing so, a series of photos of her reunion look were shared.

Unfortunately, after fans saw that the newest member of the Bravo reality cast was wearing a sheer mask with her outfit, they accused her of failing to stay safe from COVID-19 amid the taping.

Days later, as The Cheat Sheet revealed to readers on August 9, Leah took to her Instagram Stories to fight back.

In a video shared with her online audience, Leah said that the many hateful and critical comments she's received about her sheer mask have made her question her followers' intelligence.

“The fact that there are so many people commenting about my sheer mask not being COVID-safe makes me question everybody’s intelligence and common sense,” she began in the video clip. “Like, no sh**, obviously it’s not for protection. It’s part of my look.”

As "RHONY" fans saw, the rest of Leah's reunion look also included sheer fabric.

Continuing on, Leah made sure that those watching her clip were well-aware that when it came to filming "The Real Housewives of New York City" season 12 reunion, she and her cast mates, along with the film crew, took plenty of precautions to ensure that there would be no outbreak or spread of the coronavirus.

“You know what was for protection? Getting tested for COVID the day before [filming],” Leah explained. “Getting tested for COVID two days before that. Staying six feet apart from everybody."

According to Leah, the things she and her "Real Housewives of New York City" co-stars did ahead of their gathering last week was "insane" and unlike anything she's ever experienced in her life.

"The protocol that went into the reunion was insane, unlike anything I had ever seen. So anyone leaving a comment being like, ‘That sheer mask doesn’t help,’ fu** off,” she concluded.

Leah has always been one to speak her mind and clearly, she doesn't plan on stopping anytime soon.

In August of last year, on the heels of Bethenny Frankel's exit from the cast, Leah was added to the show as a friend of cast member Tinsley Mortimer. However, midway through production on the series, Tinsley left the show and relocated to Chicago to be closer to fiancé Scott Kluth

To see more of Leah and her cast mates, don't miss new episodes of the 12th season of "The Real Housewives of New York City" on Thursday nights at 9 p.m. on Bravo.
