Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Jen Shah’s fraud sentencing is vastly approaching. In one last ditch effort, Sharrieff Shah Sr is putting pen to paper for his wife.

The college football coach has been his wife’s rock since she was picked up by authorities and charge with wire fraud among a whole other host of charges. In an attempt to help Jen receive a lighter sentence, he has written a letter to the judge vouching for his wife’s “genuine remorse” for her part in this situation.

“Jen has never been arrested or detained for any crime. My wife’s current legal predicament was caused by a confluence of events that came together at various points, which caused her to spiral out of control,” he claims.

Coach Shah went on to share that personal experiences pushed Jen to act out of character.

The coach made it clear that the stress on their relationship at the time led Jen to “make catastrophically bad business decisions and develop relationships with awful people.” Coach Shah even made it clear that he blames himself more for Jen’s actions than he does her.

“Because of my absence, I was not able to see how badly my wife was suffering. As I think about it now, I saw her spending more time in our bedroom alone. She often fell asleep in out children’s bed waiting for me to come home. She would constantly tell me that she feels so alone.”

Jen also shared these thoughts on RHOSLC when fans watch Coach Shah pop in and out of scenes busy working away.

The reality star also claims that during the time of her fraudulent actions and engaging in a telemarketing scam, She was triggered by several deaths that had occurred in the family she claims to have lost her father, grandmother, and grandfather.

Coach Shah believes that his wife has already taken a gigantic step in acknowledging that she was wrong. He recalls that in July that Jen “took the first huge step in making things right by acknowledging her own guilt and accountability.”

Coach Shah is taking this leap of faith a week after Jen pleaded to the judge for a reduced sentence of only three years locked.

Jen’s lawyer Priya Chaudhry wrote in a sentencing submission to the judge that read, “We submit that such a sentence is just and fair because it takes into account Ms. Shah’s history and characteristics, the facts and circumstances of the offense, and meets that a court imposes a sentence that is ‘not greater than necessary’ to achieve the goals of punishment.”

They also shared that keeping this case alive has already caused “embarrassment, fear and shame” for Coach Shah and their two sons, Sharrieff Shah Jr., 28, and Omar, 19.

Hmm sounds like something you think of before the incident takes place, Jen. the reality star is ordered to pay back $9.5 million in restitution. The embarrassing amount has put things in perspective for Jen according to her lawyer.

“She knows the emotional and psychological toll that her sons have already been forced to pay. These are harms for which she will spend the rest of her life atoning.”
