Taking to her Instagram story, Connie Boss Alexander posted a screenshot of an old FaceTime call between the mother-son duo. The 40-year-old looked ready to step out for the night as he appeared to be dressed in a tuxedo with a diamond chain.
They seemed to be chatting in the picture, which she is missing as the caption read, "Oh if only I could FT to heaven…." This would be the second time Alexander has posted about the DJ since his tragic passing.
The Blast noted that she released a brief statement to thank everyone for their support and show of love during the tough time. "Family and friends, thank you for all the love, prayers, and encouragement," the message began.
She acknowledged the messages, posts, texts, and phone calls, adding, "I can't use words right now. Please know I will reach out when I can." The mother-of-two appealed to be kept in their prayers, ending with a personal note to her son that read:
"Stephen Laurel, your mother loves you to eternity and beyond. 💙 💔."
His wife also stated after the news broke, addressing his legacy and lauding the kind of person he was before his untimely demise. She wrote:
"Stephen lit up every room he stepped into. He valued family, friends, and community above all else, and leading with love and light was everything to him."
The 34-year-old listed his attributes as being their backbone, the best husband and father, and an inspiration to his fans, adding, "to say he left a legacy would be an understatement, and his positive impact will continue to be felt."
She mentioned that his memory would be honored every day and asked for privacy as they learned to navigate their new reality without him, as she concluded by writing, "Stephen, we love you, we miss you, and I will always save the last dance for you."
Some celebrities and colleagues in the dance space were not left out in posting tributes to the fallen star. Jennifer Hudson posted a picture of tWitch on her page, writing in the caption, "We need to pray! My God! U never know what someone is going through. This breaks my heart."
Superstar Jlo's post featured a picture of herself, Neyo, Derek Hough, and the late star, writing, "Twitch was such a light and a beautiful soul 💔 Shocked and deeply saddened. My heart breaks for @sir_twitch_alot, his wife, and children 🙏 Sending you love and strength 🤍."
One heartbreaking tribute came from actor Channing Tatum who starred with him on "Magic Mike" and danced together on different occasions. The duo were seen in the picture shirtless as they posed for the camera. The caption read:
"I have no words. There aren't any. My head or heart can not understand this. There is just so much…. I don't know where to begin. I love you. I'll see you again, my friend. Until then."

The mother-of-three was left reeling after learning that her husband of eight years took his own life in a place not far from the home they lived together with their three children.
Fans will recall that they first met while competing on the show "So You Think You Can Dance" in 2008. The Blast shared that the choreographer broke her silence with a post on her Instagram page with a heartbreaking statement.
The picture captured the happy couple in a selfie dressed casually, with Hokler resting her head on his shoulder as they smiled into the camera. In the caption, she wrote, "My ONE and ONLY Oh how my heart aches. We miss you so much."
