Nick Cannon Told To 'Show Some Backbone' Over Holocaust Survivor Literature

"Lol they still got you apologizing huh" – just one of the many comments left to 39-year-old Nick Cannon's latest Instagram update. The former "Wild 'N Out" host, fired from his job in July over his racist and antisemitic remarks, has been making every effort to make amends since calling Jewish and white people "the true savages" in a 2019-recorded podcast.

Nick, followed by 5 million on Instagram, updated on Monday with his latest literature. He posted a photo showing three books – two were the same: "The Sunflower" by Holocaust survivor Simon Wiesenthal.

Nick, who showed his backing of the Jewish community recently by observing the Tisha B'av fast, continued with the content that shows him educating himself on the religion. His Monday update showed his reads – alongside "The Sunflower," the ex to Mariah Carey is reading "The African Unconscious" by Edward Bynum.

A caption read: "Embracing this week’s 2 books. Who is joining me? Reports for both coming soon...."

Nick, who has sparked mental health concerns since being fired by CBSViacom by tagging himself in "Heaven" and writing "Goodbye Earth," did receive support, but the backlash continues.

A reply shooting up to the top of the comments section read: "We dont bend and we dont fold, Nick. Show some backbone."

Another fan, meanwhile, seemed to suggest that Nick's management "still" has him "apologizing" – the ex-MTV face has wiped his entire Instagram since the scandal, bar content focusing on Judaism and Black Lives Matter. Reviews to Nick recreating murdered black man George Floyd's last moments with an "I can't breathe" video proved very mixed.

Nick's Instagram has also been attracting comments from the Jewish community. Including the child of a Holocaust survivor.

As The Blast reported on July 31, Nick's Tisha B'av post brought in a comment from a user identifying themselves as the child of a Holocaust survivor.

"My dad is Jewish, also a Holocaust survivor. I can say I was not at all bothered by your words. Why? Bc Iv listed to several interviews over the years & know your not coming from a place of racism or hatred. Your 100% not for it," they wrote, then praising Cannon for using his platform "wisely."

Nick recently confirmed donating his salary from "The Masked Singer" to a Jewish Holocaust center.

Fans didn't let the "backbone" comment slide. Those feeling that Cannon is truly aiming to make amends after interviewing known anti-semite Professor Griff on his podcast weighed in.

"How is educating himself bending? It’s the same things we are asking the others to do re:our history. Even Malcolm X had an awakening after his pilgrimage and after he did the work," one user wrote.

Nick's podcast not only cost him his popular "Wild 'N Out" gig. It also sees his much-anticipated new show pushed to 2021.
