Cheryl Burke Talks Getting Her Thoughts Together For 'A New Chapter'

Cheryl Burke is taking time to clear her mind!
The star has undoubtedly had an adventurous year, from her divorce to leaving the hit show "Dancing with the Stars" as a pro dancer after spending 17 years. To get herself together to properly figure out a way forward in what looks like an uncertain future, she told fans in a video how she has had to detox and take a break from everything.

The television host took to her Instagram story to talk about how that week spent away by herself had been an "amazing, quiet, and meditative week of reflection and trying to get my thoughts together," as well stepping into a new chapter of her life.
The 38-year-old described de-cluttering her mind over the past few months as an awesome way to detox and that it was definitely needed. Burke then advised her fans to try and do the same thing β be quiet with their thoughts because "it really gets loud in there, for me at least."
Ending her video, she stated that time to decompress, observe and stop overthinking was a need for her. All this seems to be coming on the heels of her announcement that she would be leaving "DWTS" after its current season.
The Blast shared that after she announced her exit from the hit show, the news hit her fans and audience, who had come to love her dancing style and dedication over the 26 seasons she was on.
In the picture posted to her page, the Northern California native appeared on the dance floor in a floor-length red dress, posing with her hands up, ready to dance as she smoldered at the camera.
In the caption, the "I Can Do That," second place winner noted that she could not find the words to express her conflicting emotions over dancing for the last time as a professional. The "Hell's Kitchen" guest diner stated that it was the hardest decision of her life, but she was sure it was the right one.
She thanked the cast, crew, and everyone involved who had seen her go through the highs and lows and was confident that it was the perfect time for her to start the "next phase" of her career.
While disclosing that the next step might not involve her dancing, Burke declared that it would always be a part of her and dedicated her last dance to everyone who supported her through the journey.
Over taken by emotions, her fans left comments lauding her hard work and expertise and expressed their sadness to see her go. One user wrote, "Love you, Cheryl! U are a ballroom legend β€οΈ," while another stated that although her news made them tear up, they were excited to see where her new journey takes her.
Her fellow competitors also acknowledged her hard work, like Jordin Sparks, who wrote, "It's been a pleasure getting to know you and watching you set that floor on fire. Happy for you as you take on this new adventure in your life! I'm cheering you on, girl!! π€π€π€."
Derek Hough also wrote, "It's been a wild ride πΊπΌ So proud of all you have achieved and overcome. Forever left your mark on Dwts. It's been a pleasure. BL π.β Veteran actress Selma Blair was not left out of those who commented, writing:
"I love you @cherylburke β₯οΈ. Your time on the show and your elegant, gorgeous , fun, loving, and brilliant you have touched so many people. Your new era will be remarkable, as are you. All love π. Thank you."

Fans of the star are aware that the two-time "Dancing with the Stars" champion divorced her husband of three years, Matthew Lawrence, amidst dancing during the show's 30th season.
The Blast reported the shocking announcement as she stated in her tribute post how hard it was for her leave but she knew it was the best decision for her at that moment. Speaking to Page Six, she said, "[It's been] so hard. This is like another type of divorce, but an amicable one," and that she was overwhelmed with emotions from holding back her tears.
Adding, "I would say, because I wanted to perform the best I could," and that it was bittersweet with it now all over, but she believed in trusting her intuition. The "Dance Moms" host noted that she would "love to evolve as a human being," especially after giving it her all as a pro dancer.
