Three months after they started dating, JoJo Siwa and Avery Cyrus have called off their relationship. Cyrus broke the news to her fans in the comment section of her recent TikTok post after they had asked her if she and Siwa were still an item.
She revealed that they had decided they were "better off as friends" as the reason they decided to part ways. The pair were first linked in August and subsequently confirmed their relationship on social media in September.
Siwa was previously in a relationship with Kylie Prew and had celebrated her one-year milestone as a member of the LGBTQ+ community earlier in the year.

'We Are Better Off As Friends'
Siwa and girlfriend Cyrus have parted ways after dating for three months. While the exact timing of the split is unclear, the TikTok creator confirmed that she had broken up with the "Dance Moms" alum on the social media app on Saturday.
Cyrus posted a clip on her Royal Caribbean cruise featuring Siwa. A scene in the TikTok clip showed Siwa giving Cyrus an "'i'm sorry I'm breaking up with you' present," which gave fans a hint that the pair had ended their romance.
Some of those fans then took to the comment section to ask Cyrus whether she and Siwa were still going strong, to which Cyrus replied, saying, "We decided that we are better off as friends."
She added, "We are both so young and still just trying to figure our stuff out!" In the meantime, Siwa has yet to publicly address the split since it became known.
JoJo Siwa And Avery Cyrus Sparked Dating Rumors In August
Siwa and Cryus first sparked dating rumors in August after the pair appeared in a joint TikTok video, where their mannerism suggested they were more than friends.
In the following weeks, the duo continued to film joint TikTok videos and leave suggestive messages in the comment section of each other's posts, which further fueled dating rumors.
In September, the pair confirmed they were in a relationship after they filmed a TikTok video of themselves kissing each other while having fun at a gaming center. The video, which was posted on Siwa's page, had the caption, "Happiest girl."
Shortly after letting fans know they were an item, they stepped out together for the opening night of Alanis Morissette's "Jagged Little Pill," a jukebox musical, in Los Angeles. The pair were all smiles as they posed for the camera while subtly giving onlookers cute PDA.
JoJo Siwa Previously Dated Kylie Prew
Before dating Cyrus, Siwa was in an on-again, off-again relationship with Kylie Prew. The duo began their romance in early 2021 but parted ways in November of that year. They got back together in May 2022 and then called it quits for a second time.
The pair's breakup was confirmed by The "Dance Mom" alum's ex via an Instagram Livestream in August, which has since gone viral on TikTok.
"I don't like drama, and it makes me really, really anxious, and so I don't want to talk about it for a while, but, um, someone asked me just now if I was single [and] I am," Prew said at the time per Page Six.
She then disclosed that the split happened some months before she made the video and also revealed that the breakup was not "messy."
"I've been single for almost two months, and it's OK. It's not deep, I promise. Everything's fine. Not everything has to be messy and gross because it's not, and I just want to clear the air."
JoJo Siwa Came Out As Gay In January 2021
In January 2021, Siwa opened up about her gay sexuality when she posted a picture of herself wearing a T-shirt with "BEST. GAY. COUSIN. EVER" written across it.
Around the same time this year, Siwa marked her first anniversary as a member of the LGBTQ+ community and took to Instagram to share the moment with her fans.
"In the last 365 days, I've felt more love than ever. A year ago, today I posted this picture and shared with the world that I was gay," Siwa wrote on her page, alongside a rainbow emoji.
"Truthfully, I feel like I was put on this earth to be a role model for kids and letting all the kids of the world know that loving everyone for who they are no matter what is something that I will always believe in and always share."
