Amar'e Stoudemire Arrested After He Allegedly Struck His Teenage Daughter In The Face

Amar’e Stoudemire was arrested for allegedly physically abusing his teenage daughter over the weekend.

The former basketball player was arrested on Sunday morning in Miami after an altercation between himself and one of his two teenage daughters. Stoudemire was booked on one count of misdemeanor battery and one count of domestic violence.

He had to pose for a mugshot which he looked miserable in but he was released shortly after the arrest. It is unclear which one of the teenage daughters was hit by their father but one is 17 and the other is 14.

According to TMZ, he allegedly struck her across the face twice once with a closed fist and again with an open hand. The child described it as a punch and a slap.

The result of the slap and punch according to the daughter was a bloodied face. She also said that her dad continued hitting her on the body after finishing with her face. The police report claims Stoudemire was triggered to “discipline” his daughter because she had an “attitude”.

The attitude was supposedly towards their grandmother (his mom) when she called out for the young girl to help her in the house, and she didn’t comply. This caused Stoudemire to want to lay down the law in the form of a “whopping”. Amar’e ‘s daughter called her mother for support.

Once the teenager called her mother, things sprang into action. After seeing photos of her daughter’s alleged injuries, Alexis Welch supposedly made a 911 call  came to collect her children, four in total.

He was given $1,500 bond and a stay-away order. He is set to. Be arraigned on Jan.17. Sources claim that Stoudemire told the Miami police that his daughter “received a whooping from him for being disrespectful and a liar.”

The police also confirmed they saw "blood stains" from the encounter. The kicker to all of this is Stoudemire had graduated earlier that day with a Masters Degree from the University of Miami this is probably why the kids were there that day, to celebrate dad.

The athlete was officially charged with battery the arrest report reads, “I observed blood stains on the victim’s sweater and sweatpants.” It also says, “The mother of the victim showed me the photo she received from her daughter, which shows the victim crying and blood running down her face.”

Stoudemire’s daughter made a “plea for help” to her mother. Unfortunately, for Stoudemire, the New York Knicks social media page tweeted out congrats to the former player but how long will that be up now that this incident has occurred?
