Katie Holmes And Bobby Wooten III Reportedly Call It Quits After Less Than A Year Together

Actress Katie Holmes and composer Bobby Wooten III are allegedly no longer an item.

The couple allegedly stopped their romance last week after determining that their affair wouldn't bode well for the future. It was also reported that Holmes had stopped talking about her ex-boyfriend, maybe in an effort to move on quickly from the breakup.

The duo was reportedly introduced together by mutual friends and sparked relationship rumors after they were seen kissing during an outing in New York.

They were also spotted in each other's company at other events prior to their shocking split after eight months of being together.

According to Us Weekly, Holmes and her beau, Wooten, have ended their relationship barely a year after it began.

Through the eight months that the relationship lasted, the pair were known for packing the PDA during events and other romantic outings, as confirmed by several eyewitnesses.

As for what spurred the shocking breakup, an insider informed the publication that the pair "didn't work out together for the long run," However, it remains unclear who instigated the split other than the fact that it happened last week.

The source also disclosed that the "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark" star appears quite eager to move on with her life as she is "no longer [talking] about him to his friends."

In the meantime, there is no information about how Wooten feels about the breakup, as he has not shared any specifics with news outlets. Holmes has also steered clear of the media since the separation.

Holmes and Wooten first stirred dating rumors after they were spotted canoodling during a private outing in New York City.

The former couple then subtly revealed that they were dating a month later when they attended The Silver Ball event held in honor of The Moth's 25th Anniversary Gala.

"I'm happy to have [Katie] here as my date," the composer cum musician told US Weekly on the red carpet of the event, after earlier walking into the ceremony hand-in-hand and posing for the cameras for a couple of shots.

Weeks after the event, the pair were also seen in attendance at the premiere of Holmes' flick "Alone Together," which debuted at the Tribeca film festival. Similar to the previous outing, the duo came into the event holding hands and smiling for the cameras.

One of the highlights of the short-lived relationship was Holmes spending time with Wooten's family when she followed the Chicago native as a plus-one to his friend's wedding ceremony in June.

Per an eyewitness report to Us Weekly, Wooten's family "really liked her," as she was "very unassuming and kind to everyone." The then-lovebirds also spotted canoodling at the reception of the wedding ceremony, with little care that they were around other people.

The insider also noted, "Whenever they would go without seeing each other, they would kiss and be very happy to be together again," the insider added. "Katie and Bobby were very affectionate with each other at all times; they looked very in love and didn't care who saw."

Although there are no specific details about how the duo met, a source informed E! News in May that they got to know each other through mutual friends.

"They know some of the same people who connected them, and so far, it's working well, "the insider said at the time. The source also noted that the "All We Had" star was hyped about the relationship.

The insider added, "Katie is excited about seeing someone and is very happy. It's new, but it's going well. She enjoys having someone in her life, and he is very kind and good to her."

Holmes and Wooten shared a couple of things in common, including starring on the Great White Way. While Katie made her Broadway debut in the 2008 production of Arthur Miller's "All My Sons" and appeared in "Dead Accounts" in 2012, Bobby was in "American Utopia."
