Natalie Maines didn’t hold back on The Chicks new album when it came to spilling all the tea about her ex-husband Adrian Pasdar.
The Chicks released their first album in over 14 years entitled “Gaslighter.” The first single off the album was the song by the same name. On the track, Natalie signs about a person gaslighting her in a relationship.
The lyrics don’t make it hard to know the song is about her ex-husband Adrian. Natalie wrote lines like “We moved to California and followed your dreams. I believed the promises you made to me. Swore that night ‘till death do us part. But you lie-lie-lie-lie-lied Hollywood welcomed you with open doors. No matter what they gave you, you still wanted more.” In real life, Natalie and Adrian moved from Texas to California to be closer to Los Angeles for his acting career.
Natalie seemed to reference the divorce with the line, “You thought I wouldn't see it if you put it in my face. Give you all my money, you'll gladly walk away.” The singer then accused Adrian of a situation on a boat. She wrote, “'Cause, boy, you know exactly what you did on my boat. And, boy, that's exactly why you ain't comin' home. Save your tried story for someone else. 'Cause their lie-lie-lie-lie-lies.”
Another track on the album, “Sleep At Night”, references a time where the Chicks played a show at the Hollywood bowl. Natalie sings, “Remember you brought her to our show at the Hollywood Bowl She said, "I love you, I'm such a fan" I joked that you can love me as long as long as you don't love my man There's nothin' funny about that.”
The last time The Chicks played at the Hollywood Bowl was in October 2016. Natalie filed for divorce from Adrian in July 2017.

Natalie continued singing on the track about “My husband's girlfriend's husband just called me up How messed up is that? It's so insane that I have to laugh But then I think about our two boys trying to become men.” Natalie is the only member of The Chicks with only two boys.
The Chicks released the music video for “Sleep At Night” which includes them in faux-black leather outfits looking fierce as they sing the powerful lyrics about being cheated on. The video ends with Natalie screaming into the air by herself.
In another track, “Tights On My Boat”, the reference to the boat that Natalie talked about in “Gaslighter” reappears. In the title-track, she sang, “Cause, boy, you know exactly what you did on my boat. She expands in the new song about finding another woman’s tights on her boat alluding to infidelity.
As The Blast previously reported, back in December, Natalie and Adrian finally hashed out a settlement in their nasty divorce battle. The case had been dragging on for over two years with the two fighting over their prenuptial agreement and support. Adrian claimed he signed the agreement under duress and wanted it thrown out.
During the case, Adrian demanded monthly support of $40,7076 a month in spousal and $16,427 for child support. He requested an additional $361,494 in retroactive child support and $350,000 in legal fees. He claimed Maines was worth over $50 million and made $2 million a year.
