Someone's trying to lock it down with Victoria Justice. She's not saying "no," she just needs more info.

It all started on Friday, when the 27-year-old told Instagram about a plane that'd "been flying over Santa Monica" with a blatantly obvious marriage proposal.

"I got an e mail this morning saying TMZ was ready to break a story about me getting engaged, which is news to me???"

"Lol. In any case, until this secret admirer reveals themself, I guess my answer is... maybe? ?"

The Nickelodeon continued her post-proposal Instagram activity by dropping a 3-part photo set...and some cryptic comments.

If you analyze Victoria Justice's Instagram captions, you'll soon find she loves a good pun.

This was evidenced again via her July 12th photo carousel, which said, "Overall, it was a good day ;)"

True to brand, MTV's "Eye Candy" star was seen wearing - you guessed it - overalls. (Maybe her skywriting suitor would've gotten a straight answer with a little bit of wordplay.)

VJ's black-and-white pinstripes were accentuated by a cropped tube tank, a same-color wallet, and matching sunglasses...and accessorized with a fat puppy, referred to in the comments as a "fluff ball!!"

Yet Sunday's post couldn't go without addressing what had happened the day before. One of her top commenters asked, "is that the wedding outfit?"

Always making time for her millions (19.3, to be exact), Victoria commented back: "engagement party ;)"

Her quick comment raked in hundreds of likes by itself - not to mention hilarity (and confusion).

"You didn't tell me we were getting back together," someone wrote.

Another said "? you accepted!!! Congrats ??" - this was likely meant as a joke, but brought on (yet) another big question for the "Victorious" lead.

From Victoria, her answer was an emphatic "noooo!!"

As has been the case for many days, countless comments continue to claim credit for the grand gesture, all trying to win Victoria Justice's hand in marriage.

But it looks like they're barking up the wrong tree. As reported by TMZ, "a rep for Victoria says she's in no position to accept the proposal for all sorts of reasons."

"First, she's not dating anyone seriously and she's definitely NOT engaged. And, there's this ... she has no idea who the heck is in love with her!!!"

Vic mentioned TMZ being ready to break the big story, and she barely beat them to it - her July 10th post was sent around 4 PM, with TMZ's coming just minutes later.

The outlet pointed out that "whoever did this paid a pretty penny" to get the actress's attention.

Their reasoning? "Planes ain't cheap," and they're not wrong.

One sky ad seller says that "flight time cost is based on per hour rates ranging from $300 to $600 dollars per hour," which doesn't even included setup/assembly fees for the sign itself.

On another note: VJ was "beyond excited" earlier today. She announced shes' been invited to join the Recording Academy, the governing body behind the GRAMMY Awards. Justice says she's and "honored to have an opportunity to celebrate, represent, and give back to the music and its creators."
