Lea Michele Addresses Naya Rivera's Death On Anniversary Of Cory Monteith's Passing

Lea Michele broke her social media silence to pay tribute to two of her fallen "Glee" co-stars. Hours after police confirmed the body they found at Lake Piru was that of Naya Rivera's, the controversial mom-to-be addressed her friend's passing. It took five days before authorities found Naya Rivera's body after she went missing while swimming with her four-year-old son in the lake on Wednesday, July 8. Ironically, her body was found on the seventh anniversary of former "Glee" star Cory Monteith's death.
While several of their co-stars like Heather Morris spoke out about Naya Rivera's disappearance and even offered to help with the search, Lea Michele remained silent. Ventura Sheriff's Office, as well as trained divers, have been working tirelessly around the clock to locate Naya Rivera's body.
On Monday, July 13, authorities confirmed what everyone was dreading. "Sheriff Ayub has confirmed the body recovered at Lake Piru today was Naya Rivera," the tweet read. They also announced an autopsy will take place to reveal the cause of death.

"Glee" fans were quick to point out the eerie coincidence that Naya Rivera's body was found on the same day Cory Monteith overdosed and lost his life all those years ago.
Paying tribute to both lost souls, Lea Michele posted a few black and white photos of each star. First, she shared a snap of Cory Monteith holding a bouquet of flowers and smiling sweetly. Next, a solo shot of Naya Rivera. Last but not least, Lea Michele posted a group shot of the girls from "Glee" on the water. She chose not to include any words with the photos.

Lea Michele began dating Cory in 2008 after meeting on the "Glee" set and they remained together until his death in 2013. Cory Monteith overdosed on heroin and alcohol. His body was found in a hotel room in Canada. He was only 31 years old. As for Naya Rivera, her son was found on the boat by himself and he informed officials the two were swimming before she helped him back up on the boat. He said Naya Rivera disappeared into the water and never came back up. She was 33 years old.
