Kate Hudson is loving life in her 40s! The actress and mom of three recently explained why she feels that being in her 40s has been the "best pocket" of her life during an interview with Byrdie for their After-Dark digital issue.
Kate Hudson Understand Why Her Friends Said Their 40s Were Their "Favorite Decade So Far"
The 43-year-old Fabletics co-founder thinks her 40s are pretty great so far. "Now I know why all of my friends that were older than me in their forties were like, 'This is my best. This is my favorite decade so far,'" she said.
She also explained that she really doesn't think about "aging in Hollywood" and the pressure society puts on women to stay young. "The focus is much more from the outside than it is from the inside, I think, which says a lot about how we're programmed. Because the only time I think about aging is when I'm asked about how I think about aging," she explained. "Everybody wants to talk about, you know, what women are doing to their face. Or how women do antiaging. And I love all that stuff. I love talking about what's the new laser, but it's interesting that men don't really get the same questions. But you know, they're just as worried about aging."
Hudson feels that getting older is more about prioritizing, and for her, getting older has been a learning experience that has made her more confident. "I think aging is hard because it gets you closer to the inevitable - that we are impermanent," she said. "And the question becomes, what do you seek out of life? What is it that makes you feel alive and excited to be a part of this experience?"
Kate Hudson Is Not Concerned With The Aging Process And Would Love More Kids
In 2019, Hudson said she was "having a blast" when the topic of getting older entered the chat on the "Rachael Ray Show." She's enjoying watching her kids get older and while she isn't in a rush for them to grow up, she doesn't mind the speed it's going. Hudson, mom to sons Ryder, 18, and Bingham, 11, and daughter Rani, 4, said she can't wait to go out to a bar with her oldest.
"People kind of go, 'I want to freeze them when they're little.' I'm like, 'I don't,' actually. I'm having a blast," she said. "I can't wait to go to a bar with my kid - is that weird? He's so much fun."
And while she's mom to three from 18 down to 4-years-old, she may not be done having kids just yet. "I've been having children my entire adult life. I've got my 4-year-old and I've got a kid in college. And I don't even know if I'm done yet," she told Byrdie. "You know, I don't have that answer yet."
The actress admitted during her interview on the "Rachel Ray Show" a few years back that if she could, she "would have 100 kids" and she enjoys pregnancy despite her last one being a bit rough. But that won't stop her from experiencing pregnancy again to bring another child into the world.
"I could hardly walk. I had this thing, it happened with Bing too, I have like a dancer hip...when I start carrying heavier, forget it, I can hardly get up the stairs," she explained. "But I'll still get pregnant again. I just love it."
