Movie star Emily Blunt has opened up about tearing up while filming the 2014 action thriller "Edge of Tomorrow."
The actress admitted that the armor they had to wear on filming seemed too heavy for her to handle and that she cried when she put it on for the first time.
She went on to say that her co-star Tom Cruise told her to toughen up after overcoming his initial reaction to her tearful reaction.
The 39-year-old is scheduled to star in two upcoming films, "Oppenheimer" and Netflix's "Pain Hustlers."

Emily Blunt Cried On The Set Of 'Edge Of Tomorrow'
Speaking on an episode of the "SmartLess" podcast, which debuts on Monday, Blunt reflected on the time she starred alongside Cruise in the alien-themed thriller, "Edge of Tomorrow."
At the time, the actress was mostly known for starring in rom-coms, which made her casting in the movie a very new experience for her.
"We had to wear these enormous suits, which I think would've been great if we had CGI'd them, but we wanted to do it in a tactile way," she said on the podcast, recalling some details from the production, per New York Post.
"When you hear the word 'tactile,' you think that sounds nice and cozy. There was nothing cozy about these suits. It was like 85 pounds. It was so heavy," Blunt added. "The first time I put it on I started to cry, and [Cruise] didn't know what to do."
Tom Cruise Told Emily Blunt To 'Stop Being Such A P***y'
Amid her emotional reaction, Blunt informed her co-star that she was not sure she had the strength to follow through with the shoots.
"I was like, 'Tom, I'm not sure how I'm going to get through this shoot,' and just started to cry," she continued. "I said, 'I'm feeling a bit panicky about the whole shoot.'"
For his part, Cruise seemed to be taken aback by his colleague's reaction, as he "stared" at her for a long time before giving her a response that shocked and amused her.
"He just stared at me for a long time, not knowing what to do, and he goes, 'Come on, stop being such a p***y, OK?'" she said.
While Blunt was eventually able to adjust, she did not leave the film set without a few nicks and cuts. The "Looper" star revealed that she injured her ribs and collarbone during other scenes.
'Edge Of Tomorrow'
Inspired by the Japanese novel, "All You Need Is Kill," the action-packed futuristic film centered on a war between humans and aliens.
The Doug Liman thriller starred Tom Cruise as a military man with limited field action who was forced by his superiors to join a tactical operation against the bloodthirsty invaders. When he is suddenly killed on the battlefield, a freak act brings him back, and he finds himself stuck in a time loop in which he repeatedly experiences the same gory fight that led to his death.
However, his battle skills and knowledge of the war improve with each resurrection, bringing him and his army teammate, played by Blunt, closer to unraveling the aliens' power source and permanently eliminating them.
Alongside Cruise and Blunt, the movie starred other talented actors, including Bill Paxton and Brendan Gleeson.
Emily Blunt's Upcoming Projects
While it remains to be seen if the sci-fi movie will ever get a sequel, Blunt is slated to play Katherine Oppenheimer in Christopher Nolan's upcoming biographical film "Oppenheimer."
Her character is the wife of Cillian Murphy's J. Robert Oppenheimer, an American theoretical physicist widely recognized as the "father of the atomic bomb" for his contribution to the Manhattan Project during World War II, which resulted in the creation of the first nuclear weapons.
Blunt will also star in David Yates's flick for Netflix dubbed "Pain Hustlers." The film follows the life of high school dropout Liza Drake (Blunt), who finds work with a failing pharmaceutical start-up in a dilapidated strip mall in Central Florida and tries to forge a better life for herself and her daughter.
However, just as soon as things seem to be going her way, she finds herself at the center of a criminal plot with dire consequences.
