Leah McSweeney appears on a recent episode of the "Not Skinny But Not Fat" podcast this week, where the "Real Housewives of New York City" cast member opened up about her addition to the Bravo reality series before speaking about the way in which Tinsley Mortimer helped her get to know her co-stars before leaving the cast midway through season 12 last year after getting engaged to her on-again, off-again boyfriend, Scott Kluth, and moving to Chicago to start a life with him.
“Tinsley totally helped me ease into the friend group. [She] doesn’t have a mean, competitive, weird girl vibe,” Leah explained, according to a report shared by Reality Blurb on July 9. “She’s just not like that. She actually is happy [and] I think that’s what kills some of the other women about her. I was trying to tell Tinsley, ‘Tell Dorinda [Medley] to shut the f–k up’ like, Dorinda will respect that more. That’s the language she’s speaking. Tinsley doesn’t speak that language.”
While Leah has been quite a big hit with fans of "The Real Houswives of New York City," she admitted that when it comes to season 13, she is not yet sure if she'll reprise her role for the upcoming episodes.
“I’m thinking about it, we’ll see what happens,” Leah shared. “I mean yeah, I will, I would, you know, whatever. Of course. I think I’m watching how the rest of this season plays out, but overall, it’s a good experience.”
Just months after joining the cast, Leah learned Tinsley was leaving the show and right away, she was "bummed" but thrilled about her co-star's big news.
“Obviously I was so bummed, but I was so happy for her because that’s what she wanted,” she stated. “And obviously, look at that dinner at that Mexican restaurant we were at. Also, I made the toast for her because you don’t make a toast for yourself. Then obviously Dorinda didn’t want to hear it and then even Ramona [Singer] was like, ‘Well I’m finally in good graces with Dorinda, so I’m just gonna follow along’ and then Sonja [Morgan] just ignored her. "
Looking back at the women's negative reaction to Tinsley's happiness, Leah said she totally understands why it was so easy for Tinsley to leave town.
"Like, who would want to fking hang out with them after that? So could you blame her for hauling a to Chicago? I’m not blaming her,” she shared.
To see more of Leah and her co-stars, don't miss the new episodes of season 12 of "The Real Housewives of New York City" on Thursday nights at 9 p.m. on Bravo.
