Noah Cyrus is no stranger to getting political on social media, and her latest post has gotten her into a bit of hot water. Cyrus posted an edited image of herself flipping Trump the bird with “F-CK TRUMP” at the top, and the image got her in some trouble. Not for the message, but because Cyrus’ nipples were vaguely visible through her top. She wrote on Instagram:
“Please please please VOTE VOTE VOTE I cry imagining another four years of pure TORTURE and TERROR.
This edit for DELETEDDDDDDD off of @alwaysnoahcyrus twitter ???”
Her Instagram comments became a bit of a battleground following this political statement. Plenty of people were upset that Cyrus wasn’t a Trump supporter (even though she’s been pretty clear about her views in the past).
“Trump is not bad at all. Vote Trump ????????”
“Trump 2020!! It will be a landslide ????????”
“Vote TRUMP ?? #unfollowed”
Still, there were plenty of supporters in Cyrus’ comments as well, offering their support to her message.
“F-CK TRUMP”
“Stronger together! Black lives MATTER ?”
“Noah is so much concerned [sic] about racism ?… she deserves a lot of respect ? #STANDAGAINSTRACISM”
Cyrus has been using her Instagram account to highlight many current political causes, particularly the Black Lives Matter movement. While celebrating Pride Month, she wrote:
“standing in solidarity with Black Trans Lives today and every day. so much positive change has come about in just the last two weeks but we have to continue to demand more until everyone on this planet loves and treats people equally.
She ended that message with a particularly forceful message to Donald Trump.
“F-CK THIS MAN IN OFFICE TRYING TO TAKE TRANS RIGHTS AWAY!! WE WILL SPEAK UP WE WILL FIGHT BACK!!! NO LIVES MATTER UNTIL ✨ALL✨ BLACK LIVES MATTER!!!”
Noah isn’t the only politically vocal Cyrus. Her sister Miley also spoke out against Trump in an interview with Vanity Fair last year, calling Trump a “completely racist, sexist, hateful assh-le.”
“You know, I said I would move away if he became president. We all said a bunch of shit we didn’t mean. Because we really thought: Maybe people will listen. Maybe people actually realize how detrimental this will be to our f-cking country if this happens. Obviously they didn’t.
But for me to move away—what the f-ck is that going to change? As someone who is so proud of being an activist, am I going to feel proud of myself just running away from, and leaving everyone else here to live under, a completely racist, sexist, hateful assh-le? You can’t leave everyone else to fend for themselves.”
