Kristen Doute is addressing the "cancel culture" movement after being canceled herself. The former "Vanderpump Rules" star took to social media and posted about the conversational topic. The ex-Bravo personality shared a clip showing "The Good Place" star Jameela Jamil speaking openly against the movement to Trevor Noah on her Instagram Story on Saturday, June 27. It's an interesting move since it's basically what happened to Kristen and Stassi Schroeder after a racial incident with former co-star Faith Stowers was brought to light.
FYI -- "cancel culture" refers to pulling support from public figures and companies over the act of saying or doing something considered offensive. In the interview that Kristen Doute shared, Jameela Jamil is stating the dangers of practicing this method instead of giving the offender a second chance.
“The thing that we are sometimes searching for in our society is moral purity and we are just never going to find that. All you can find is progress and not perfection and so that’s what we should all be striving towards,” she told Noah.
"Ten years ago I was problematic in my thinking and there were loads of things I didn’t know and didn’t understand and thought I was right about. Had I been ‘canceled’ at that time I would never have gone on to become someone who spends all of their life fighting for women’s rights and the rights of people who are marginalized and who is now being able to get Instagram and Facebook to change their global policy to protect young people," Jameela Jamil added.
As The Blast reported, Kristen Doute and Stassi Schroeder were canceled after Faith Stowers recalled an event from 2018 where the girls racially profiled her. Stowers said that Kristen and Stassi called the cops to report her because she looked like a black woman who was wanted for robbery. Fans were livid and immediately called on Bravo to fire the two stars from the show they had appeared in for eight years. The network listened and although the duo issued apologies, they were axed from "Vanderpump Rules."

Since then, Kristen Doute and Stassi Schroeder have remained silent on the issue, until now. While it's not Kristen's own words, she is clearly making a point that fans and Bravo made a mistake. A petition has made the rounds asking the network to rehire both Kristen Doute and Stassi Schroeder. It has already exceeded 20k signatures and the numbers keep on growing. But Bravo fans aren't satisfied with only Kristen and Stassi's firing. They want Jax Taylor,Brittany Cartwright, and Lala Kent gone too. Others suggest they should cancel the show altogether.
