Cancer has been very cruel to John Travolta.
The award-winning actor has been put through the ringer when it comes to his loved ones losing their life to cancer.
Travolta Has Lost Several Loved Ones To Cancer
Following the news of his on-screen love and real-life best friend Kirstie Alley’s death, The Blast did a deep dive into the women Travolta’s lost due to the disease.
Alley played Travolta’s on-screen wife in “Look Who’s Talking” (1989), “Look Who’s Talking Too”(1990), and “Look Who’s Talking Now” (1993).
Alley died after a brief battle with colon cancer that was “only recently discovered.” Her two children announced the heartbreaking news on social media on Monday, December 5th.

“To all our friends, far and wide around the world… We are sad to inform you that our incredible, fierce and loving mother has passed away after a battle with cancer, only recently discovered,” the message read. “Our mother’s zest and passion for life, her children, grandchildren and her many animals, not to mention her eternal joy of creating, were unparalleled and leave. Us inspired to live life to the fullest just as she did,” the letter continued. “We thank you for your love and prayers and ask that you respect our privacy at this difficult time.”
Alley and Travolta’s on-screen chemistry was absolutely out of this world, and it reportedly almost became a reality, according Alley herself.

During a 2018 stint on “Celebrity Big Brother UK,” the actress revealed she almost ran off with Travolta.
She devoted special attention to the “Grease” heartthrob.
“I think I kissed Travolta,” she confessed. “I almost ran off and married John. I did love him, I still love him.”

However, she was married at the time which prevented her from pursuing a more intimate relationship with him.
“If I hadn’t been married I would’ve gone and married him and I would’ve been in an airplane because he has his own plane,” she said.
He paid tribute to Alley on Monday writing, "Kirstie was one of the most special relationships I’ve ever had.
I love you Kirstie. I know we will see each other again."

This year, Travolta lost another on-screen love, Olivia Newton-John.
The two starred opposite each other in the 1978 smash hit, “Grease.” He played Danny Zucko while ONJ played Sandy Olsson.

The actress died at the age of 73 following a 30-year battle with metastatic breast cancer on August 8th.

Unfortunately, this wasn’t the actor’s first heartbreak from breast cancer.
He lost his wife, Kelly Preston, to it as well.
The pair married in 1991 and had three children together: Jett, Ella Bleu and Benjamin.

Jett Travolta passed away in 2009 at the age of 16. He suffered a seizure after hitting his head on a bathtub while on vacation in the Bahamas.
Preston battled breast cancer for two years and died on July 12, 2020.
The couple met during a screen test for their 1989 comedy, “The Experts.”
Travolta and Kelly married in 1991 after years of the actor waiting on his future-wife to get out of a relationship.
It seemed that every time he had a second to date her, she was in another relationship with Hollywood’s most eligible bachelor.
Eventually, Travolta’s patience paid off and the couple were married for 28 years, before her passing.
