Will Britney Spears Appear In Her ‘Once Upon A One More Time’ Broadway Musical?

Is Britney Spears going to appear in a new Broadway musical?

That's the question that her fans were asking themselves when the musical "Once Upon A One More Time" revealed its schedule for the summer of 2023. The news dropped on Friday, December 2, which just happens to be Britney's birthday!

The "Hold Me Closer" singer hasn't responded to the news just yet, but here is everything that we do know about the production and when you can go see the musical inspired by all of Britney's hit songs throughout the decades!

Britney Spears has been sharing plenty of dancing videos and different edits on her Instagram page over the past few months. Could she be preparing for a rehearsal? Unfortunately, at this time, there is no mention that Britney will appear in the Broadway musical in their press release, which revealed its summer schedule.

Previews for "Once Upon A One More Time" will begin on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at Marquis Theatre. The opening night is scheduled for Thursday, June 22, 2023. That means that the musical will open just over a week before the last "Indiana Jones" movie featuring Harrison Ford hits theaters (the trailer dropped just last night!)

The musical will feature plenty of Britney's hit songs throughout the years, including "Circus," "Toxic," "Lucky," "Oops!...I Did It Again," and other recognizable hits. The musical is an original story by Jon Hartmere that features classic fairytale princesses, like The Little Mermaid, Cinderella, Snow White, and others. The musical imagines what happens if a fairy godmother goes rogue and drops "The Feminine Mystique into their corseted laps."

The musical was choreographed and directed by Keone and Mari Madrid, although the casting for the play has yet to be revealed at this time. The musical had its world premiere last year at Shakespeare Theatre Company in Washington, D.C., and was met with rave reviews.

The news was first reported by Deadline, who reported that the Broadway production’s creative team includes David Leveaux as Creative Consultant, Scenic Designer Anna Fleischle, Costume & Hair Designer Loren Elstein, Lighting Designer Kenneth Posner, Sound Designer Andrew Keister, and Projection Designer Sven Ortel.

Although plenty of fans are excited about the musical, other fans are worried about Britney. The "Break The Ice" singer has been posting many throwback photos and videos on her Instagram page, which is causing fans to speculate why she doesn't seem to post anything recent.

On Thursday night, one day before her 41st birthday, Britney didn't seem to be celebrating. Instead, she again shared a photo of her standing in her living room in a nightgown and wedding veil.

In a previous Instagram post shared five days before this one, Britney claimed it was her “great great grandmother’s veil.” She has since shared photos and videos in this outfit every day for the past five days, leaving some up and deleting others. Some fans believe she is trying to send a secret message, but no one is quite sure what it means.

She posted the photos several times on Thursday night, all with different captions. In one Instagram post, the “Overprotected” singer wrote, “Not sure why I’m holding my stomach … I think I felt bloated ??? !!!”

Fans have all created different theories as to why Britney is sharing old photos and videos. One fan commented, “I’m convinced she’s pregnant, hiding from the paparazzi and posting old things to confuse people. It’s my favorite theory."

However, other followers suspect that, even though Britney was freed from her controversial conservatorship in November 2021, that someone else is running her account. “The person running this account has been posting old pictures and videos for over a year,” another follower claimed.

Other followers seemed to agree that Britney is no longer in charge of her Instagram account. One fan believes that “there is a camera in her mirror and she doesn’t know – that’s why it looks like she’s watching herself.”

Fans aren't quite sure what is going on with Britney Spears, but they hope that she posts some photos or videos from her 41st birthday to show that she is alive and well!
