‘RHOBH’ Denise Richards Sets The Record Straight About Abandoning Filming And The Surprising Show Hiatus

Actress Denise Richards is essentially the only cast member carrying the show this season. Everyone seems to be obsessed with not only her but her husband Aaron Phypers and their daughters. Since before the season started, Richards has been accused of abandoning her cast members and not showing up to events that are mandatory and being filmed for the show. For the most part, she has been hush hush about all the chatter but it looks like the mom of three has had enough of the gossip.

During an appearance on SiriusXM’s “The Jess Cagle Show”, The 49-year-old got real about the differences in filming her first season in 2018 to her second season and she admits she has made a few mistakes. “I went in very naive, I think, the very first season,” said Richards. She went on to share that she wanted to be as authentic as she could be. “I want to be myself because some people do know of me and I didn’t want to play a character. I just wanted to be myself on the show and… just react how I really would.”

“The Bold and The Beautiful” star admitted that during season 9 she was enjoying getting to know the women. “I had fun with them, and I genuinely formed some great friendships [during season nine].” As for season 10 well, the actress is singing a different tune. “It’s been a different experience. But, you know, people are watching. So, that’s good,” she noted. One thing Richards really wanted to get off her chest was the allegations that she did not show up to all the filming events.

The ladies, namely Kyle Richards, Lisa Rinna, and to an extent Teddi Mellencamp have been insinuating that the “Wild Things” actress was barely in this season because she didn’t show up to multiple events to film. “I didn’t stop filming and I actually think I filmed something on FaceTime for one of the parties,” admitted Richards. The actress claims to have only missed filming two events near the end of filming schedule. The other party I did not go to. So, I didn’t stop filming,” she insisted. “We completely wrapped for the season.”
Now, the show has taken an unexpected hiatus and fans are not happy about it. Richards ensured them that it will only be for a short time, she also shared why the hiatus was happening. “I think we’re on hiatus because we got so far behind with the confessionals with the COVID. We just recently started doing them where we’re filming ourselves, basically,” she admitted. “So, I think that’s part of the reason why we have to go on hiatus. We gotta catch up with the episodes.” Fans know the importance of those confessionals, so they are willing to suffer the wait.
