Late Aaron Carter's twin sister Angel Conrad is making a major legal move!
Almost a month after the famous pop singer passed away under troubling circumstances, his beloved twin is hoping to take over his estate and, in turn, manage the wealth he left behind.
Aaron Carter's Twin Files Petition For Authority Over His Estate
The Blast has exclusively obtained court documents that show that Angel filed a petition asking a judge for authority to authority to manage her late brother's estate. It is important to know that the 34-year-old's move comes in light of the news that Aaron died instate — meaning he died with no will.
The "I Want Candy" singer's net worth was valued at $550,000. His personal property is valued at $200,000, while the net value of the real property is listed as $350,000. On the other hand, the gross fair market value of real property is valued at $750,000.
With Angel filing to manage her late brother's estate, what does it mean for Aaron's only son, Prince Lyric Carter, whom he shared with his ex-fiancée Melanie Martin? Well, Angel listed the 1-year-old son as a potential beneficiary of Aaron's estate.
An excerpt of the court document reads, "I, Angel Conrad, hereby nominate myself as administrator of Estate of the decedent - Aaron Carter. I am the sister of the decedent Aaron Carter. Under the California Probate Code I am entitled to Letters of Administration of the Estate of Aaron Carter, by virtue of being the surviving sister of the decedent. I am a resident of the State of California and I am over the age of 18."
Now, the case is set to proceed to the next step, where a judge would determine whether to grant Angel's request or not.
Angel Promised To Carry Aaron In Her Heart Until She Dies
We reported the news of Angel's tear-jerking tribute to her beloved twin shortly after his death. Alongside several heartwarming childhood photos showing their tight bond, the actress poured out her heart.
"To my twin… I loved you beyond measure. You will be missed dearly. My funny, sweet Aaron, I have so many memories of you and I, and I promise to cherish them," she began her post. She concluded her post by referencing Aaron's battle with mental health issues and drug abuse.
In her words, "I know you’re at peace now. I will carry you with me until the day I die and get to see you again. 💔." Angel has no doubt tried to keep this promise to the best of her abilities. Weeks ago, Aaron's death certificate was released, and it was shown that the troubled singer was cremated.
The certificate showed that singer-turned-boxer’s ashes are currently in the possession of his sister Angel. It was also reported that his mother Jane was the first family member to hear the news of his demise.
