'Vanderpump Rules' Star Max Boyens Reveals He's 'F**king Proud' To Be Part Black

Max Boyens and Brett Caprioni may have been involved in a racism scandal earlier this year after a number of offensive tweets from their past were exposed but earlier this week, the "Vanderpump Rules" cast member and TomTom manager revealed some surprising news: He's actually part black.

Amid the ongoing protests against inequality, racism, and police brutality in Los Angeles, Max took to his Instagram Stories, where he revealed, via Reality Tea that his grandfather was a "true hard working African American."

“Never have I ever NOT been prideful of being black. EVER,” he began.

According to Max, who didn't mention that he was part black after being dragged into a racism scandal earlier this year, he didn't want to appear to be "justifying" his past posts by sharing such news.

“I didn’t express I was black when the tweets came out because I didn’t want to justify them. Make it seem like OH ITS FINE I CAN SAY THAT IM BLACK,” he wrote. “Umm no. I CANNOT say that and never will. But trust me when I say I’m fucking proud to have black in me.”

Describing his grandfather to his online audience, Max, who joined the cast of "Vanderpump Rules" for season eight last summer, said the man was a professional boxer before he began working as a police officer in San Diego, California.

Max then said that his mother, who is half black, taught him all about black culture and the impact that racism has had on her own life.

“I do NOT, I repeat F*KING DO NOT condone racism, hate, or judgment on others because of their color and quite honestly I’ll shut that sht down immediately if I ever saw it,” he said.

During Tuesday night's taping of the "Vanderpump Rules" reunion, Max said he was very sorry for his past tweets during a chat with host Andy Cohen and his cast mates.

“We live in a generation now where saying some things, even if you are of that culture, it’s just frowned upon. I just want to say I’m just really sincerely sorry. There’s no excuse,” he admitted.

Also on Instagram, Max made it clear that he is proud to be part black and "always will be."

“I’m proud to be African American,” Max concluded. “I’m proud to have a voice and I KNOW right now. Today. And f**king always. BLACK LIVES MATTER.”

Max has been supporting the Black Lives Matter movement heavily on his Instagram page and has also attended protests against racism in Los Angeles.
