Dolly Parton has nothing but wonderful wishes for her goddaughter Miley Cyrus as she turns a new age.
Over the years, Parton and Cyrus have shown how fond they are of each other. The 11-time Grammy winner had acted as a mentor to Cyrus and even defended her from the public’s criticism.
As the “Wrecking Ball” singer turned 30, she received an outpouring of love from her godmother, who also noted that she was anticipating their iconic performance.
Dolly Parton Showers Love On Her Goddaughter Miley Cyrus
The 76-year-old took to Instagram to show the world how fond she is of her beloved goddaughter. She shared two snaps of them in all smiles.
The former Disney star wore a black sleeveless dress that displayed her tattoos, pairing it with strapped sandal heels. On the other hand, the legendary country singer rocked a shimmering gold dress, adding a gold heel to the look. The pair were surrounded by a sea of gold and black balloons, which complimented their outfits. As for their pose, the “Malibu” singer hugged her godmother from behind while smiling.
“Happy birthday, MileyCyrus!" Parton captioned the post. “I can't wait to celebrate with you and ring in the new year!! ❤️”
Fans and other celebrities showered love on Cyrus while noting that they were anticipating the iconic performance from the duo.
“Happy Birthday 🎉 Miley,” a fan gushed. “Can’t wait to see yours and Dolly’s New Year’s Eve.” Another fan commented on the magical bond, writing, “I love seeing Miley and her (magical, fairy ) godmother!”
According to reports, Cyrus’ New Year’s Eve Party would return this year on NBC, and the country icon instead of Pete Davidson would be joining her to usher in the holidays. The event is executive produced by Lorne Michaels and will showcase a star-studded lineup of performances and special guests, which have yet to be announced.
Fans would recall that last year’s occasion in Miami featured artists including Brandi Carlile, Billie Joe Armstrong, Jack Harlow, and Saweetie. This year, Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party will air live on NBC from Miami on Saturday, Dec. 31, from 10:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m.

This New Year’s Eve Show won’t be the first time the “Jolene” singer and the “Heart Of Stars” singer will be working together.
As you might recall, the philanthropist acted as the “Party in the U.S.A” singer’s godmother in “Hannah Montana.” Cyrus, during an appearance "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," recalled the first time performing with the "Jolene" singer.
"I remember her coming to a table read for 'Hannah Montana,'" Cyrus said. "I had, like, zit cream all over my face and my pajamas were on, and we all had our backpacks, going to school, and she came in, in a pink silk robe! And her hair could barely fit through the doorway!"
She further revealed, “That's one of those proud moments where people started saying, 'So you call her Aunt Dolly. Is that your real aunt?' I'm like, 'Yes she is!'"
That same year, the “Coat Of Many Colors” singer was asked a similar question in another interview, and she responded by saying she felt like a "proud mama.”
The “Jolene” Singer And The Disney Star’s Beautiful Bond
In 2010, the “We Can’t Stop” singer faced significant public criticism when she twerked on stage. However, the “Two Doors Down” singer defended Cyrus by saying that change was essential for her brand to be viewed differently from “Hannah Montana.”
In playing her fairy godmother role, the businesswoman has also advised the former Judge of “The Voice” regarding relationships. When Cyrus got engaged to Liam Hemsworth in 2016, Parton was asked if she had given the star marriage advice.
"Keep a great respect for each other," she said. "My husband and I respect each other. We have a lot in common. But I don't give people advice. I just say to be respectful and mindful of the other person's feelings and try to compromise when you need to."
It is no surprise that the “Wild Flowers” singer thinks highly of the “So Undercover” actress’ creative skills as she wanted the singer to play “Jolene” in “Dolly Parton's Heartstrings.”
Echoing similar feelings about Parton’s art, Cyrus had also stated that no one has “been able to make country music sexual more than Dolly.”
