Lala Kent is speaking up about the Balenciaga ad controversy!

As you might know, the high-end luxury fashion brand has been on the receiving end of backlash after promoting a controversial children's advert that was likened to child pornography.

Lala Kent Is Proud Not To Own Any Balenciaga

The "Vanderpump Rules" took to her Instagram Story to share screenshots of the horrific advert and the headlines it made. For the ad, which was to showcase a children’s collection, a young girl was seen dressed in Balenciaga Kids apparel while clutching a teddy bear clad in a leather bondage chest plate.

The teddy bear, which was dangling from a rope held by the child wore a spiked collar and a leather mask, while leather spiked cuffs, often used in BDSM practices, were seen on both wrists and ankles. In another ad campaign advertising a bag, the piece was seen resting on top of a table covered with documents about child pornography as props.

Alongside the controversial images, Kent wrote, "I’m sure I’ll be shadow banned…again, for posting this - but I have to. I’m proud to not own one single piece of Balenciaga." The reality star continued, noting that it was important for the world to see what the documents used a prop contained as she could see "some horrifying words."

She concluded her rant, writing, "Y'all - we need to do better. Reject the darkness, find the light. The well-being of our world and its innocent beings depends on it." In the follow-up slide, Kent shared a quote from an article about the controversy.

An excerpt read, "The ads, which ran on Instagram, depict children holding teddy bear bags outfitted in what appeared to be bondage gear and also included documents that appear to be a court ruling about child pornography."

The article notes that Balenciaga is taking "legal action" against the parties responsible for creating the set and using unapproved items from their spring 23 campaign. Kent shared a screenshot of the brand’s apology and slammed them for being hypocrites.

Balenciaga Offers Apology For The Advert

The Blast reported that the internet went wild with anger at the sight of the ads, and fans bashed them mercilessly. One follower lamented, "There is NO acceptable reason to be exposing children to BDSM. The court document in the ad appears to be a case known as ‘Free speech coalition vs Ashcroft’ (look it up) this is sick & now Balenciaga has deleted all posts on IG & changed the photo on the site."

This angered fan asked, "#balenciaga are you promoting ped©philia? Kid holding teddy bear dress in sex clothe and lock around its next while grown man poses with a key on his finger. #cancelbalenciaga."

Alana Steward wrote, "This is appalling and horrifying. Where is the outrage on major media?" While another fan inquired, "Have you noticed all the children in the Balenciaga creepy child exploitation ads are White/#EthnicEuropean? Just like the girls targeted by #Epstein and Maxwell. Not a coincidence."

Even Tucker Carlson of Fox News lashed out at the brand on air while demanding that something be done about the blatant targeting of children. "What is this? It’s an endorsement of kiddie porn of child pornography. What else could it be? We wanted to know," he asked.

Following the backlash from the internet, the luxury brand released an official statement that read, "We sincerely apologize for any offense our holiday campaign may have caused. Our plush bear bags should not have been featured with children in this campaign. We have immediately removed the campaign from all platforms."
