Serena Williams‘ latest workout photo wasn’t just about the muscle machine of a body. The 39-year-old tennis superstar whose 23 Grand Slam titles are behind that rock-hard physique made her Wednesday update as much about herself as 2-year-old daughter Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr.
Serena, now forced to keep training up from quarantine – she was one of the first celebrities to announce going into “solitude” back in March – used her photos to explain that there are “two types of people.”
At first glance, Serena’s photo likely drew the eye with the workout vibes. The former World no. 1 was in full sweat session mode and stretching it out in a group class setting. Nothing too unusual, with Serena doubling up a stretch and some weight-lifting by holding dumbbells above her head while on a mat. Yes, the killer body was on show, and no, Serena didn’t seem out to flaunt it as she looked right ahead while rocking a knotted white tank, plus a black pair of yoga pants, also going barefoot. Currently sitting at 268,000 likes and getting a like from 38-year-old sister Venus who recently starred on “Game On,” the post drove fans to swipe with the caption.
“There are two types of people..,” Serena wrote. By this point, her 12.3 million followers may well have noticed that little Olympia was sitting in the corner and playing on a tablet while resting on a pink fitness ball. Anyone swiping right then saw a close-up of Olympia – and the fans were absolutely loving it.
Shooting up to the top of the comments section was a comment from “Power” actress La La Anthony, who wrote: “???Love her‼️?❤️.”
Also commenting was “The Masked Singer” judge Nicole Scherzinger, writing: “That’s right sis.” Alongside model Alessandra Ambrosio and Serena’s clothing brand commenting, the fans were also there.
“She reading the instructions first ?,” one fan wrote, with another saying: “She’s minding her business ?.”
Olympia, who has her own Instagram account, has been filling her mother’s feed – and Serena’s confessions as the star admitted to “side-eyeing” her toddler over COVID-19 anxiety.
Serena has made headlines for revealing that the global pandemic has left her highly anxious.
“I don’t hang out with anyone, and when I say anyone I mean my daughter,” Serena said back in March, then revealing: “She coughed, I got angry and gave her a side-eye. I gave her that ‘angry Serena’ and then I got sad. I was like, ‘Is she ok? Is there something wrong with my daughter? Is there anything I can do?’ I just don’t know what to do, so instead of being relaxed I’m really under a ton of stress.”
More easy-going has been Serena bursting out her Disney dress while microwave-baking pies – possibly for Olympia.
