She Called Her 'Husband' A Wonderful Father
Mendes previously talked about Gosling and his parenting style with their children. While responding to a fan who asked why she seemed like "a single mother online," the actress explained that she wanted her partner's parenting methods kept private. She also said she liked connecting to women and being a "girls' girl."
"So when I say I'm a 'tired mama' and want to connect to other 'tired mamas,' it's not about excluding the fathers or other caregivers that do so much," Mendes explained per People. "It's just me connecting to other women, but in no way does it devalue what papas do. And why I don't talk about Ryan and all the wonderful things he does as a father is because I keep that part private."
The actress explained that she only wanted to talk about what she felt comfortable with and did not want to involve Gosling and their children more than necessary. "It's not about being cagey or weird; it's just about staying private in a public space," she continued. "Does that make sense? Hope so. Because this is my honest answer, and I really do love connecting to you women."
