R. Kelly's Ex-Girlfriend Azriel Clary Doesn’t Feel Sorry About Him Being In Prison Cell, 'The Irony'

R. Kelly’s ex-girlfriend Azriel Clary finds it comical the disgraced singer had no problem keeping her in rooms for days but can’t handle prison.

22-year-old Azriel has been speaking out about the abuse she suffered at the hands of the alleged child sex predator. Recently, Azriel tweet, “It really boggles my mind how a man would leave women in rooms for days, with no phone just paper to write an apology.. but now that you in a room all day with no phone, you don’t like it. The irony.”

The message comes after Kelly tried to name-drop Azriel in his attempt to be released from prison. It all started when Azriel took to YouTube live to chat with her followers. She started talking about the healing process and how she is overcoming the trauma she experienced.

At one point, Azirlel took out a $4,000 Versace jacket once owned by Kelly. She proceeded to destroy the coat by cutting it with scissors. She told her fans the process was therapeutic for her.

Days later, Kelly used the video in his motion for release. He argued he could not obstruct justice since his alleged victims, including Azriel, already hate him too much. He said there was no way, if released, he could try and change Azriel’s opinion on him before the trial.

Prosecutors demanded the singer be shut down arguing he was a flight risk and possible danger to society. The judge sided with prosecutors and denied Kelly’s motion.

The Blast

After Kelly’s lawyer mentioned his ex-girlfriend in court, Azriel’s lawyer, Gloria Schmidt Rodriguez, told The Blast, “Ms. Clary is of the belief that whatever Mr. Kelly is attempting to accomplish regarding his criminal matters is his prerogative, just as it is entirely Ms. Clary’s prerogative to choose the manner in which she deals with the fallout of her prior relationship with him and the trauma she endured.”

She continued, “There is no manual that dictates how her recovery should materialize. It is her right—and hers alone—to choose the manner in which she lives her life now. Ms. Clary would like to thank her fans and supporters for their unwavering encouragement to continue living her best life and being a voice for abused women.”

Kelly remains behind bars at MCC Chicago.
