Shirley has been in the thoughts of many "Teen Mom" fans after revealing that his mother was diagnosed with COVID-19.

"This Mother’s Day is a little hard because my mother is very sick. A week ago she was diagnosed with Covid-19. Her line of work put her at a higher risk since she was working in activities and house keeping at an assisted living facility," Shirley explained to fans.

Shirley and his wife, Kristina Anderson, have been trying to care for his mother during her time of need, but due to their daughter's own health issues they've had to keep their distance.

"My wife and I have been trying to help by dropping off food (curbside) so she could focus on getting rest. We haven’t hugged her in about 3 months & we haven’t had her over inside our home for about 3 months. This has been extremely hard for all of us. Our youngest daughter has an immunodeficiency disorder where she gets sick so easily so we have stayed home and took this quarantine very seriously ."

As many fans of "Teen Mom" are hoping Gary Shirley's parents pull through, his baby mama and former fling, Amber Portwood, is also sending love.

Even though the ex-couple has been through their share of turmoil, they co-parent 11-year-old Leah, although she lives primarily with her father.

Portwood posted a message on IG with a photo of her ex, asking fans to "pray for Gary" during his difficult time. Hopefully the prayers from around the world are helping, as Shirley recently updated fans that his mother is "getting stronger everyday and on the mend."
