Jessica Simpson was happy to take it back to the old-school last week. The 39-year-old singer, actress, and "Open Book" author appeared on her clothing line's Instagram – the throwback photo to the 2005 Met Gala came amid a headline-making storm Jessica wound up in after a former Vogue staffer described the "Dukes of Hazzard" actress' "breasts that fell out" during a Met Gala recollection. A "[nauseated]" Simpson slammed the "body-shaming" moment, with Vogue then appearing forced to issue an apology. Keep scrolling for the photo.

Clearly, Simpson is a target for unflattering remarks. The photo, seen below, showed the mom of three posing for a photo op by railings outside the Met Gala – the blonde was with American fashion designer Michael Kors and looking a total knockout as she flaunted her feminine silhouette in a strapless satin-effect dress in black and blush red floral prints. Jessica flashed her pearly whites as she showed off a trim figure – the star made headlines in 2019 for dropping 100 pounds after her third baby saw her tip the scales at 240 pounds.

Comments seemed to see a fanbase recalling every last detail.

A comment quickly came in targeting the 60-year-old fashion face – Kors came with a reputation for insults on TV series "Project Runway," with a fan mentioning just this as they wrote: "I remember when he was so rude to you on 'Project Runway.'"

The headlines have been all about the cleavage and inappropriate comments for Jessica this month, though. Sparked by ex Vogue writer Sally Singer's account of the 2007 Met Gala, with a mention of Jessica's ex John Mayer, the oral history of the annual gala painted Jessica in a less-than-favorable light.

"At dinner it was suddenly like, whoa, Jessica Simpson's breasts are across from me at the dinner table and they are on a platter and I'm looking at them," Singer said in the Vogue story. "And John Mayer was putting his hands on them at the dinner table. He kind of reached down and I just remember thinking, 'Oh, celebrities, feel free to play here. That's what's going on,'" Singer wrote.

Jessica's response was nothing short of explosive, also seeing her front global media outlets.

Simpson responded by posting the famous 1957 photo of Sophia Loren appearing to check out actress Jayne Mansfield's breasts.

"Feeling a little like Jayne Mansfield after reading this (inaccurate!) oral history of the #MetBall where I am body shamed by #SallySinger," she began, adding that "in all seriousness," she had "persevered" through "shaming my own body."

"To read this much anticipated article about the classiest fashion event there is and have to be shamed by another woman for having boobs in 2020 is nauseating."

Vogue has since issued an official apology.
