Another one bites the dust...
Gabby Windeyand Erich Schwer, who got engaged during the “Bachelorette: After the Final Rose”, have split.
Just a few weeks after the finale aired, Windey was spotted without her engagement ring on her finger during “Dancing With the Stars,” and fans began to speculate the two parted ways. Just a few days ago, Rachel Recchia, the other lead on last season of “The Bachelorette,” confirmed the news in an Instagram Story.
Gabby, herself, also addressed the break-up during Monday's episode of “Dancing With the Stars,” after her partner, Val Chmerkovskiy, revealed they would be dancing a waltz routine to Des'ree's "I Am Kissing You."
"For me, it holds a special place because I did just go through a breakup," Gabby told Val. "The end of our relationship happened because we weren't completely in step and in sync with each other on our common goals or just the way we approach life. We weren't each other's best match."
Now, Erich Schwer is also speaking out on the breakup.
Erich Is Grateful For His Time With Gabby
Erich took to his Instagram Story yesterday, just one day after Gabby spoke out about the breakup on "Dancing With the Stars."
"A lot of you are reaching out with questions about me and Gabby," he began. "The reality i that we ultimately were not each others people - it's hard when there isn't one thing to put your finger on."
The 29-year-old continued to explain how meeting on a reality show was a "unique" situation, but he will always be grateful for Gabby coming into his life. "We met in a very unique situation and in a very unique way and I'm grateful we did. I would never take it back," Erich continued. "Gabby is an amazing person and she is doing amazing things. I will always root for her and I hope she gives them hell in the DWTS finale."
Erich Schwer was caught in a few controversies as the"Bachelorette" finale neared -- including a Blackface controversy as well as leaked text messages indicating Erich had a girl back home before filming "The Bachelorette." In his message to his fans on Instagram, he said, "I have learned and grown so much this year from experiences and mistakes and I continue to better myself every day. I am hoping to take this time with my family and loved ones and focus on myself."
He concluded, "I have been working hard these past few months and I'm excited to share with y'all eventually."
Rachel Recchia Is "Grateful" For Gabby Windey Amid Split
Rachel Recchia recently appeared on the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast, where she addressed the split between close friend Gabby Windey and her ex-fiance Erich Schwer.
“She is so busy right now, which in a way, I’m super grateful for this for her, because I think it’s really helpful to throw yourself into something,” she explained. “She really is practicing all day, every single day.”
Recchia concluded with, “I’m just happy she has something to focus on instead of just whatever is happening behind the scenes.”
