Candace Cameron Bure, one of the "Full House" alums, has created a stormy Christmas with her comments on "traditional marriages." She recently moved out of Hallmark, despite being the creator of Hallmark Channel, and is now the chief executive and creative head of Great American Media, because she wants to spread the good word about the Lord.

While no one's pointing any fingers at her for being Christian or loving the Lord, her recent comments about same-sex marriages have been tough to swallow.

Bure explains her move by saying, “My heart wants to tell stories that have more meaning and purpose and depth behind them. I knew that the people behind Great American Family were Christians that love the Lord and wanted to promote faith programming and good family entertainment.”

She is now reunited with her former Hallmark boss Bill Abbott, and Bure even said that her decision to leave Hallmark was because “it basically is a completely different network than when I started because of the change of leadership.”

Case in question, this holiday, Hallmark will be releasing its first-ever holiday movie with an LGBTQ+ storyline, "The Holiday Sitter". As far as Bure and the Great American Family go, this may not happen on the channel for a while to come.

46-year-old Bure stated, "I think that Great American Family will keep traditional marriage at the core." That said, she also softened the statement by saying, that none of the content she will make will be “off-putting to the unbeliever or someone who shares a different faith.”

Abbott on the other hand is still on the fence about, let's just say, "non-traditional marriage", as he stated: “It’s certainly the year 2022, so we’re aware of the trends. There's no whiteboard that says, 'Yes, this' or 'No, we’ll never go here.'"

Slammed By Hilarie Burton & Jojo Siwa

Hilarie Burton, "One Tree Hill" alum, slammed Bure on Twitter, calling her a "Bigot."

The tweet read, "Bigot. I don’t remember Jesus liking hypocrites like Candy. But sure. Make your money, honey. You ride that prejudice wave all the way to the bank."

Burton also did not spare Abbott, writing, "Now they’re just openly admitting their bigotry. I called this shit out years ago when Abbott was at Hallmark. Glad they dumped him. Being LGBTQ isn’t a “trend”. That guy and his network are disgusting. You too Candy. There is nothing untraditional about same-sex couples."

Bure's take comes as a far cry from her 2016 statement where she had said that she was “100 percent on board” with working on projects including same-sex couples, stating, "I support all things that we go through as human beings and would love all our characters to explore whatever issues that are current in our culture and our society."

Bure is definitely not on Jojo Siwa's favorite list, as she was previously called out by Siwa for being the rudest celebrity the teen had encountered, which Bure apologized to her for.

Siwa took Bure down in an Instagram post, saying, "honestly, I can’t believe after everything that went down just a few months ago, that she would not only create a movie with intention of excluding LGBTQIA+, but then also talk about it in the press. This is rude and hurtful to a whole community of people."

Social media is also hopping mad over Bure's take and the comments flow on her Twitter page...

Wrote one, "None of the bigoted views over on GAC are surprising, but putting them in bold face print is. Also, "traditional"? "Trends?" I don't have the space to unpack how offensive these words are or why they should not be used. But please just don't."

Another comment was a more direct hit, "So much for a Christian. You have NO IDEA what God is about. No idea."

Further lessons followed:

"Read your Bible! Jesus walked this earth as a gender-fluid human being. He supported love. This hate is organized religion, not Jesus. He would call this hate towards anyone blasphemy."

"You know what's wild? People assume a Christian TV station has to appeal to the masses. Featuring Christian couples is kind of the point of the dang station. Don't like it? Don't watch. It's honestly that simple. The twisting of words is out of absolute control."

For now, Bure has not responded to any criticism nor defended her take. Watch this space to see what happens next...
