Britney Spears: Uncovered Court Document Shows Dad Claiming She Had Dementia

The world is just regaining its footing amidst the coronavirus pandemic, but the #FreeBritney movement hasn't stopped moving.

As reported last week, the ongoing conservatorship of Britney Spears was confirmed to have been extended until late August 2020. This came after a last-month hearing was suddenly delayed due to coronavirus concerns.

Concerned supporters are taking the time downtime to walk through a paper trail that is now 12 years long. They shared an alarming find on Tuesday.

An early-day conservatorship document shows the pop star's father, Jamie Spears, claimed Britney had dementia at the time of filing in 2008.

A single, legal-sized screenshot was shared in the #FreeBritney hub of Reddit last night. The user felt the document explained "how Jamie has had the power to lock Britney in mental facilities against her will...he claimed she had dementia when filing for CONservatorship of the person."

The February 2008 form requests that Mr. Spears would be appointed as Britney's conservator in "orders related to dementia placement or treatment in the Attachment Requesting Special Orders Regarding Dementia (form GC-313 under Probate Code section 2356.5 be granted."

Underneath the header "DEMENTIA POWERS," the aforementioned "Probate Code Section 2356.5 allows conservators to request particularly strong powers if the conservative allegedly suffers from dementia. If the conservatee has a dementia-related illness, the conservator may be empowered to place the conservatee in a locked-door institution and to authorize the administration of medications 'appropriate to the care of dementia.'"

The public record was first shared by an anonymous advocate via Twitter. This person is said to have been a multi-platform #FreeBritney advocate - strangely, they went radio silent one month after this September 2019 posting.

Even more recent than the mental matters were the host of domain names reported as recently purchased by Britney's talent manager Lou Taylor - two of which carry the name Lindsay Lohan (lindsaylohan.com and lindsaylohan.net).

The user sharing the reports, Bryson Lightfoot, also wrote that Taylor sued another fan over buying the domain loumtaylor.com. This fan, Bryan Kuchar, is sadly not the only #FreeBritney supporter who has been sued over their involvement in the movement.

On the subject of money: The previously mentioned, now-disappeared activist pointed out last summer that "accounting filed by Jamie Spears...shows money was spent at Target & Ralph's on August 27th & 28th [2018] while Britney was in Europe" on tour.

A third brought forth an Instagram update from Britney that "came out the same week as the shady accounting records" came to light. The 2015 post has Britney sharing her "first pair of Christian Louboutin snakeskin heels that were 6,000 dollars," before adding that she'd "never worn them."

But - as one put it so well - "that don't add up." A 2013 paparazzi snap shows Britney, surrounded by the Spears camp, "wearing the shoes she bought four years ago in 2015."

The plot thickens...again...
