Netflix never ceases to amaze its users with the amount and standard of content they churn out. The streaming powerhouse maintained its standards when it premiered "Selling Tampa" in December 2021.

Although the show was a "Selling Sunset" spinoff and followed its format, "Selling Tampa" focused on the chronicles of the work and adventures that happen around Allure Realty, a Black-owned real estate company with an all-Black staff. Unfortunately, the company's stories would remain untold following Netflix's cancellation of the hit series.

Soon after it became clear that "Selling Tampa" would not return for a second season, fans of the show took to social media to air their grievances. One person tweeted, "So I guess we just aren't getting another season of selling tampa. Which is sad cause I like that show."

Another upset fan wrote, "Buying Beverly Hills is unwatchably bad. We got this instead of a second season of Selling Tampa?!" A third person tagged Netflix's official Twitter account and yelled, "where the f**k is Selling Tampa??!"

A fourth person commented, "Nah this is lame. I liked the show," and a fifth had this question, "Between #SellingSunset and  #BuyingBeverlyHills does anyone know who has sold more real estate? Also, where the hell is Season 2 of #SellingTampa?"

Even Haitian-American singer and media personality Jessie Woo said, "Y'all were on here calling #SellingTampa all types of ghetto and now look… we still waiting for season 2."

Amid the fan meltdown, a Page Six source has shed some light on the circumstances surrounding the show getting scrapped. According to the insider, after several months of getting the runaround, the show's cast was invited by Adam DiVello — the franchise creator — and producer Skyler Wakil to a Zoom call.

During that call, the news of the cancellation was broken to the cast. The source emphasized that even though the women were not given a believable explanation, they were instructed to inform curious fans, "There aren't any plans right now for more "Selling Tampa," but luckily, the first season is still on Netflix for fans to rewatch or discover."

Speaking on the turn of events, cast member Juawana Colbert told the news outlet, "I feel like we weren't given a second chance, possibly because of what we represented as minority women."

The luxury real estate agent pointed out that they also had to deal with Netflix and its producers, who were "out of touch" on how to film with an all-black cast. For starters, the producers expected the women to get ready within an hour for their confessional interviews — a feat that most of the cast said was unreasonable. In Colbert's words:

“With sew-ins or the types of extensions that typically women of color have to get, we don’t work on that same time frame. It’s not a wash-and-go. Women that are minorities, it’s not that easy. Our hair, just in general, takes longer.”

The TV personality also noted that Netflix's excuse that "Tampa" did not have the "numbers" did not add up as the show landed the No. 1 spot in the United States on the streaming service within 24 hours of its release.

Others who starred alongside Colbert include Colony Reeves, Karla Giorgo, Anne-Sophie Petit, Alexis Williams, Tennille Moore, Rena Frazier, and Sharelle Rosado — the head broker of Allure Realty.

On the flip side, "Selling Sunset" got its third consecutive People's Choice Awards nomination — a feat that Heather Rae Young and her costar Chrishell Stause have celebrated.

While Heather uploaded a video that featured her and her husband, Tarek El Moussa, encouraging fans to vote for the show because the "third time's the charm!" Stause shot a video with her dog, "the real star of the show." The Blast observed that the reality star, who was also nominated in another category, was joined by her partner, G-Flip, for the IG Story update.

The high-profile awards show is slated to air on December 6th with "Selling Sunset" battling it out  with "90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days," "The Kardashians, "Below Deck Sailing Yacht," "Jersey Shore: Family Vacation," "Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta," "The Real Housewives of Atlanta," and "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills."

As for Stause, she will be battling it out with Garcelle Beauvais, Khloé Kardashian, Kenya Moore, Kim Kardashian, Kyle Richards, Kandi Burruss, and Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino.
