Hollywood star Emily Blunt admitted that she would be interested in a sequel to the 2006 hit film, "The Devil Wears Prada." The actress starred in the movie with stars like Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Stanley Tucci, and several others under the direction of David Frankel.
"The Devil Wears Prada" received acclaim and awards upon its 2006 release, with Streep's performance singled out. The actress earned an Oscar and a Golden Globe nomination for her role; however, Blunt and Hathaway also received accolades. The movie grossed more than $326 million worldwide against a $41 million budget.
Although there have been numerous calls for a sequel over the years, fans had to content themselves with the original film. In a new interview, Blunt, who played Emily Charlton, revealed that she would agree in record time if asked to do a sequel with the rest of the original cast.

While talking to "The View" on Thursday, Blunt broached the topic of her 2006 hit film. According to the actress, she loved working with her cast mates during the period and signed off on a sequel to do it once more. Blunt said, "I would do it in a heartbeat just to play with those guys again."
She played Charlton, the assistant to Streep's feared character, Miranda Priestly. Her character usually sported a green eye shadow color which Blunt described as "horrifying" and deserved to have a section appearance.
"The green eye shadow is so horrifying; it has to get another outing. So bad," she said. Although Blunt recently said she would be excited to star in the sequel, the actress had a different opinion in 2018.
Emily Blunt Believes A Squeal Might 'Dilute' The Impact Of 'The Devil Wears Prada'
During The Jess Cagle Interview in 2018, Blunt talked about filming "The Devil Wears Prada" and how much she loved the experience. "We all just wept with laughter," the actress said to People Magazine. "I loved working with sweet Annie Hathaway, and it was my first experience working with Meryl [Streep] and Stanley Tucci, who is now my brother-in-law."
Blunt further explained that although many people had been calling for a new sequel, she was hesitant to get on board because she didn't want it to be "diluted."
"If everyone did it, I would be up for it," the "Mary Poppins Returns" star said. "I almost hope it doesn't [happen] because I think sometimes when you sequel, everything kind of dilutes how special the original is."
Emily Blunt's Co-Stars May Not Share Her Enthusiasm For A Sequel
Although Blunt revealed that she was more than interested in a "The Devil Wears Prada" sequel, Hathaway, her co-star, said there weren't any plans for another film. A week before Blunt's most recent interview, Hathaway was on "The View" and said she did not think a sequel for the 2006 film was doable.
"I don't know if there can be [a sequel]. I just think that movie was in a different era, you know?" the actress said. "Now, everything's gone so digital, and that movie centered around the concept of producing a physical thing. It's just very different now."
Hathaway continued per People, "Although, it is tempting to think about Andy and Emily needing to get Miranda her coffee, and she's somewhere in Europe, and then along the way they pick up Stanley Tucci in Italy, who's at a restaurant."
Anne Hathaway Says There Would Be No 'The Devil Wears Prada' Sequel
Prior to her "The View" appearance, Hathaway spoke about plans for "The Devil Wears Prada." She attended the New York Fashion Week earlier this year with an outfit that bore a striking resemblance to what her character, Andrea Sachs, wore in the film.
Hathaway wore a brown leather jacket under which she had on a black turtleneck top and a skirt. Her hair was done up with a bang. She received several questions about her look at the event and if there would be any new "The Devil Wears Prada" films in the future.
The actress told Entertainment Tonight, "There's not going to be a sequel. It's not gonna happen. It's just like, we can't do it. It's not gonna happen. It exists. There are other films. There will be other films. We can just watch that one [The Devil Wears Prada] again."
