Sam Smith Talks Demi Lovato’s Romance With New Boyfriend Max Ehrich

Sam Smith was recently introduced to Demi Lovato’s new boyfriend, Max Ehrich, and by the look of things, the British singer says his pal ‘seems happy’ in her relationship.

Rumors concerning Lovato’s love life exploded when she was first linked to the American actor last month, and despite having also appeared in Ehrich’s recent Instagram Live video, she chose not to comment on the matter.

And while she has yet to confirm reports that she’s seeing Ehrich, Smith gushed on Andy Cohen’s SiriusXM radio show that he had met Lovato’s rumored beau.

According to Smith, their love for one another seems genuine.

During his chat with Cohen, the “Money On My Mind” hitmaker explained that he and Ehrich had ‘met last night actually on FaceTime’ while conversing with Lovato in a video chat.

'So, and I'm assuming you approve?' Cohen asked, which prompted Smith to quip: 'I don't know, I haven't met them. I don't know anything about it.'

The 27-year-old, who prefers the pronoun ‘they,’ added: 'But it seems - they seem so sweet and she seems happy at the moment which is the most important thing.'

Smith and Lovato dropped their joint track “I’m Ready” earlier this week with an accompanying Olympics-themed music video including high-heeled sprinters and plenty of dozens of background dancers.

The video itself has already amassed over 10 million views since its release on April 16.

It’s believed that the reason why Lovato was recently seen in Ehrich’s Instagram Live video was simply down to the supposed fact that she’s reportedly been isolating with her beau amid the coronavirus pandemic.

And now, they can't seem to get enough of one another.

Meanwhile, the release of Smith’s latest single comes just days after claiming they had contracted COVID-19 after experiencing a number of symptoms while in lockdown at their home in London.

According to Smith, they had been in lockdown with their sister when both experienced COVID-19 symptoms, telling Zane Lowe: 'I didn't get tested but I know I have it, 100% have it.’

‘I’m just going to assume that I did because everything I've read completely pointed to that,' the "Stay With Me" chart-topper gushed.

Meanwhile, in an attempt to draw away from the global pandemic, Smith posted an Instagram selfie on April 18 while asking fans their thoughts on his duet with Lovato.

'Sending you all buckets full of that cyber love right now. Been reading all your comments and I’m so happy "I’m ready" has brought a smile to your faces at this time,' they wrote.

‘Whether it’s a little workout or even baking a cake and eating it all to yourself, let’s try and bring those weekend good vibes into this confusing time. Thinking of you all. All the time x'.
