Kids say that darnedest things… and the most honest things.
Tom Brady opened up about his nine-year-old daughter Vivian’s recent comments that had a major impact on him.
During this week’s episode of his “Let’s Go!” podcast, the Tampa Bay QB recalled how his youngest child pointed out his unhappy face out on the football field.
Tom Brady's Daughter Called Out His Angry Face
“My daughter always says, ‘Daddy, you did not have a happy face out there.’ And I’m trying!” he said. “I wish I would have more awareness of what the scowl looks like, but I’m doing my best to try to get to a better place and better peace of mind.”
Prior to his divorce from Gisele Bündchen, Brady was having quite the “rough week(s)” at work.
In August, he took an 11-day hiatus during the pre-season due to “personal reasons.”
Tom Is "Trying To Get A Better Peace Of Mind"
At this point in time, Brady and Gisele were living apart and their marriage was looking grim.
In addition to several upsetting losses, the QB was fined $11k in October for kicking Falcons player Grady Jarrett.
While Vivian was critical of his facial expressions on the field, Brady praised his little girl for being his “No. 1 cheerleader.”
He explained how she is always “excited” to watch him play.
“I wouldn’t have it any other way,” he added.
Brady and Gisele share Vivian and Benjamin (12).
He has a 15-year-old son, Jack, from his previous relationship with actress Bridget Moynahan. Gisele and Bridget had a great co-parenting relationship.
Last month, the former Victoria’s Secret model and NFL star finally addressed their divorce in social media posts on their respective accounts.
The couple finalized their divorce on October 28th.
Taking to her Instagram Story, Gisele opened up about her and Tom’s decision to end their 13-year marriage.
Gisele's Announces 'Never Easy' Decision To End Marriage
“With much gratitude for our time together, Tom and I have amicably finalized our divorce. My priority has always been and will continue to be our children whom I love with all my heart. We will continue co-parenting to give them the love, care and attention they greatly deserve,” her statement read. “The decision to end a marriage is never easy but we have grown apart and while it is, of course, difficult to go through something like this, I feel blessed. For the time we had together and only wish the best for Tom always. I kindly ask that our privacy be respected during this sensitive time.”
The QB’s statement regarding their divorce read, “In recent days, my wife and I finalized our divorce from one another after 13 years of marriage. We arrived at this decision amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together. We are blessed with beautiful and wonderful children who will continue to be the center of our world in every way. We will continue to work together as parents to always ensure they receive the love and attention they deserve. We arrived at this decision to end our marriage after much consideration. Doing so, is, of course, painful and difficult, like it is for many people who go through the same thing every day around the world. However, we wish only the best for each other as we pursue whatever new chapters in our lives that are yet to be written.”
The star QB concluded his statement, “And we kindly as for privacy and respect as we navigate what is to come in the days and weeks ahead. Thank you.”
