The former Disney channel star is gearing up to drop her much-anticipated documentary My Mind & Me where she will tell hard truths about her mental health. Ahead of the release, she sat down with Rolling Stoneto talk about where she is at in life now.

In the December cover story, out now, the singer shared a personal and shocking truth, the medication she takes for her bipolar disorder has a good chance of hindering her from naturally having children in the future.

The sad reality is something that Gomez initially took hard but on her mental health journey, she has come to accept it and realize it may not be that bad.

"That's a very big, big, present thing in my life," she says the awful truth. But it hasn’t kept her down, she is still hoping to have kids one day, one way or another. "However I'm meant to have them, I will."

Her acceptance of the fact is brave of her and her willingness to be open to other avenues of becoming a mom means that one day some lucky kid will get to give her the title! OR, she will be the really cool aunty!

Instead of focusing on the harder truths of her diagnosis, Gomez wants to concentrate on her mental health and physical health.

Gomez tells Rolling Stone that she worked hard to see her Bipolar disorder as a “friend” more than anything. "It took a lot of hard work for me to (a) accept that I was bipolar, but (b) learn how to deal with it, because it wasn't going to go away," she admits.

In addition to dealing with her mental health, the “Come and Get It” singer was diagnosed with Lupus an autoimmune disease. It eventually took a toll on her body, forcing her to slow down and really take care of herself, not just say it.

Her situation was so bad, she had to get a kidney transplant. Thankfully, a friend of hers and fellow actress Francia Raisa was a match and more than willing to give a kidney to her best friend.
