Takeoff’s Wounds Were Fatal
The Migos rapper was reportedly shot in the head and the torso during an altercation that broke out around 2:30 AM Tuesday at a pool hall. Takeoff was not the intended target and was in fact hit by a stray bullet.
The incident allegedly took place after his group member and uncle Quavo got into an altercation with an unknown person over a game of dice. In a video that TMZ has shared, Quavo is seen speaking to someone and turning his back, and walking away.
The video also shows someone with a gun in their hand and shots can be heard. The video also captures the moment that Takeoff passes away and Quavo is in tears.
Houston Police Are Looking For Takeoff’s Murderers
The Houston police department did a press conference shortly after the “Versace” rapper's murder pleading with the public for help in finding the people who shot the fatal bullets. They pointed out that many people fled the scene and they would like them to call with tips and can stay anonymous if they like.
They also noted that social media is not the proper channel to inform the police of what they know. “We do know that the media is receiving a lot of phone calls, text messages, Twitter, tweets, vines, videos; we need all of y’all to send those to us,” said Sgt. Arrington of the Houston police department.
Chief Troy Finner also took the time to inform the public that this should not reflect on the hip hop community negatively because fans and family have always seen Takeoff as unproblematic. “Sometimes the hip hop community gets a bad name and I know evident from this city and people with who I have a personal relationship, a lot of great people in the hip hop community and I respect them.”
