The actress revealed that she is battling MS and because of the disease her body is changing in ways that she never expected. She was nervous as she told the New York Times that, “this is the first time anyone’s going to see me the way I am,” she says after staying out of the public eye for the most part and resurfacing with 40 extra pounds on.

She went on to share that she is “very aware of” the changes her body is going through. “I’m never going to accept this, I’m pissed,” she states with passion. She admits she isn’t “totally fine” as she goes through the grieving process of the life she once had.

The Married… With Children actress shared the shocking diagnosis in a sentimental tweet about just over a year ago. “A few months ago I was diagnosed with MS, it’s been a strange journey,” admitted the award-winning actress.

She shares that she has been fully loved on by friends and family during her challenging time. “I have been so supported by people that I know who also have this condition.” She is staying optimistic while still acknowledging the “tough” road ahead and asking her fans for “privacy”

She also acknowledges that she has a daughter to worry about in addition to her condition. She shares 11-year-old Sadie with her husband Martyn LeNoble

She is focused on not allowing the disease to take away her joy and if that means she had to walk with a cane, then that is her new normal. She has embraced it by sharing a post of her cane options back in November 2021.

Christina Applegate’s Post Received A Lot Of Love

The first person to send love to the actress was her, The Sweetest Thing co-star Selma Blair who is battling MS as well, proudly! “Loving you always. Always here. As are our kids. Beating us up with love,” she writes.

Maria Menounos also showered Applegate with love having battled her own scary health issues, she knows the fear the mom of one is feeling. “Sending you love prayers and strength. Here if I can be of any help. Xoxo”

Fans also shared their personal stories in Applegate’s comments. “I am so sorry. 19 years for me. It's a road but it's not always as bumpy as it seems at first. You'll educate yourself & family, you'll be scared, you'll be in denial. Then, all of a sudden you don't think about it all the time. It's just you. Hang in there!”

The disease has affected so many people, the actress has a large community to lean on.
